Maybe this guy isn't the angel YT has made him out to be. I had never heard of this incident:

quote:
Off the field, Harrison was sued after the 2005 Pro Bowl when three boys accused him of attacking them when they tried to get his autograph. The suit alleged Harrison "violently and physically attacked" the minors, including placing a "potentially deadly choke hold" on one of the boys, but it was later dismissed.

I'm with my man K Smith on this one. YT has villified guys like Ocho Cinco and TO, due mainly in part because of their "antics". But they aren't the ones whose guns are being used in shootings. Thumb Down

shine3000, remember ksmith is a kobe nutrider and thus prone to hyperboly.

The choking incident could have gone like this.MH was tired and not in an autogrpah mood. The boys could have let off with some n-bombs and MH may have told them to go to hell. That in turn changed when the cops arrived and the desposition of whites is always beleived no matter one standing in the community.

Translation, never beleive everything you hear.

....and the antics I'm refering to are primarily the endzone dancing antics. Which ain't schittt!! Mad The media tried to make Marvin out to be a person of deep character just because he didn't celebrate in the endzone. They were so interested in making that point...and highlighting that part of his style that they never bothered to cover his off field stuff. Hmmmmmmm......

Now that everybody is worrying about looking like a Cincinnati Bengal you don't even hear them messing with Terrell or Ocho Cinco. You see....these guys don't get drunk, beat women, take drugs, drive over 100 mph, sell drugs, buy drugs, prostetutes or anything like that.

B4L, you may be absolutely correct.

I'm just wondering if there is any possibility that this guy isn't who everyone thinks he is. He is made out to be a good guy because he is quiet and he doesn't spike the ball when he scores. Roll Eyes

Bison for Life is missing the point. It's not about the nitty gritty details. It's about the media decision to keep it on the down low. I think Shine3K is suggesting the media has protected him because he was their darling.

I don't know about that. But, they did make a bid deal out of him not celebrating. I just attributed it to him being a country boy. Didn't know he was the nightclub owning type. Wow. Laugh

If you've had legal issues in the past doesn't it make sense to keep a low profile? Confused

IMO he's never held himself out to be perfect. In fact, he's just been a quiet dude whose one helluva of football player.

To me, someone is a fraud if they hold themselves out to be one thing and they are something else (see, Roger Clemens). He hasn't held himself out to be anything.

Yeah. It's not like he's held himself out to be like say, Steve Garvey or something. So he's quiet and doesn't spike the ball, kind of like Barry Sanders huh? Geez.
