It was E-L-E-C-T-R-I-C in Philips Arena. I had to shoot the last 20 seconds on my knees to keep from getting run over.

Oh and the scenery was so far above the mark I'll just say awww skeet skeet skeeeeet!

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." - Joseph Goebbels, German Minister of Propaganda, 1933-1945

Atlanta has the worst fans in sports. They only show up when it is convient to jump on the bandwagon. They've done it with the Braves, Falcons and now the Hawks. I bet if Atlanta loses this series, it will be right back to sparce crowds at Phillips Arena.

in general, I agree. As someone having been a long-suffering fan of all ATL teams since being old enough to watch TV (seeing The Hammer's 715th homer as a 4-year-old) , being fair-weather is a foreign concept to me. The futility and fickleness of ATL sports fan is almost as nationally-prolific as the hard-scrabble rep of Philly sports fans.

that being said, go Hawks. Braves, get healthy. Falcons....you are in my prayers Laugh Thrashers...good luck and do what you do, 'cause I don't understand hockey.

Near the end of game five Dominique Wilkins held up seven fingers basically saying it would go seven games. Kenny Smith and Charles Barkely did not agree. Well, the Human Highlight Film was correct.

The key to victories in this series has been REBOUNDING. Check the box scores. Which ever team has the most rebounds have won. When a team is rebounding, that mean they are protecting the paint, and playing good defense.

In each one of the Hawks victories, Hartford has been the un-notice man in my opinion. The Hawks need to start feeding him the ball in the paint, instead of making him set high picks for Johnson. Hartford is either going to convert or draw fouls, or both. Again, it's all about controling the paint, and rebounding.

Yeah the Atl team (Hawks and Falcons) fans are wishie washie, but when those two teams fans are out....... Eeker Eeker Eyeball Eyeball

Go check the attendance in Boston the last few years. When the Celtics sucked, the building was looking pretty sparse too. It's easy to root for the RedSox and Pats.

I don't know many cities that have fans that support their teams through 40 years of not having back to back winning seasons(Falcons) or 8 years of not making the playoffs (Hawks) with 3 different rebuilding plans in between. The Braves don't have a problem with attendance.

1. I'll give you Boston fans not showing up when the team was bad, but that's just one team. Atlanta fans turn the trick with all their teams.

2. The Atlanta Braves used to not sellout playoff games. I remember in 2003 when the Cubs played the Braves in the NLDS, there were just as many Cubs fans in Atlanta than Braves fans. Folks who could not buy tickets to Wrigley Field, were traveling to Atlanta to watch the games in Turner Field.

So yes, the Braves have historically had empty seats in that ballpark even when the team was winning.

3. I'm a big Cubs fan and that team has not won a World Series in 100 years, but yet, they sellout every game. (I don't know why, but that's the way it is). It was the same way with the Red Sox before winning the World Series in 2004. Fenway Park was always sold out.

Even though the Bulls and Bears had bad seasons this year, Solider Field and the United Center were soldout.

You have to admit that Atlanta is not a sports town. They have pro teams, but not all the fans are behind those teams like in other cities.

True ... But in all fairness, that's basically the case in practically all sports cities. Back when I was still in the NYC in the mid to late 80's and the Bricks couldn't win a thang, we could buy the cheapest ticket in the rafters of MSG, and by halftime be seated a few rows behind the bench.

Gotta admit I thought the Squawka would only win one, but the post-game look on Ray Allen's mugg last night shows that there may be some trouble - or at least some hints of doubt - in Beantown.

If the Celts do lose, I don't think Doc is toast ... But NEXT year would be "A Ring - Or ELSE!" Crazy

See, I'm not talking about fans that don't support losing teams. It's hard to do. Atlanta fans barely show up when the teams win.

Like I said, the Braves did not sellout playoff and World Series games, and even though the Falcons had some solid years, that team has gotten roller coaster support.

The thang about the Bravos was that they were the East Division Champs for so long that being in the early rounds of the playoffs was practically a given, and with the futility that eventually followed, I can see why it was hard to get excited about anything short of being in the World Series.

The ATL - kinda like here in Tampa - has so many folks from everywhere else that nobody wants to give up their loyalties from the crib without d@mn near being pried away from them. I'm an admitted fan of the Rays from Day One ... But my fondness and affinity for the Metropolitans will ALWAYS be with me - and if the two should EVER meet in the World Series, I will just put in for two weeks off ... assuming I'm still even working.

Bandwagoners exist everywhere ... It's just that the ATL has the worst rap. How many of all these muggz that were at these three games have ever set foot in the Arena - let alone seen a Squawks game period - before this series began?

Seeing that how the Thrashers have outdrawn the Hawks the last few years, I would say not very many.

It was a nice run Hawk fans. You lost the 1st 3 games in Boston by an average of 22 points. Expect more of the same.
