Yes I would care! It would hurt the conference and HBCU's all around to have a premiere institution leave.

You wouldn't hav even asked this question if they cared about Athletics....

Its a shame for them to be the "LOPSIDED" standard when it comes to Black Institutions...most sports media outlets in D.C. could care less what they do athletically...

they have the money....they are missing out on alot of extra publicity in a major market

but they will always be the real HU...

I mention FAMU because you were the most recent examples of how we react to those seeking to flee the MEAC. I could have also thrown DSU in the mix. You know a lot of us went ballistic regarding their President's attitude as well. I think it depends on how you leave. If you attempt to leave thinking the MEAC no longer presents a challenge and that's debatable...expect to take some heat and get a hearty "get the fguk out" response. If you leave because you're broke...can't cut travel cost....losing fan support[i.e. NCCU in the 80's] then of course we will have a different attitude and probably rally to your cause.

Do you want me to go back to my original post and add DSU? Would that make you feel better? Like I said your school came to mind because most of us consider FAMU to be a sports power among HBCU's. Howard is not. So if we don't give a rat's azz about FAMU leaving why would we care about HU leaving?

Would I care? Athletically Yes The taste of buffalo wings would surely be missed. For 13 straight years you have not beaten us in football.

Academically? Yes, We always need an assistant King to the conference well I understand that you want to establish your own fiefdom. There can only be one king in the MEAC. Academically, it only leaves us in the MEAC. YUCK, maybe there on to something.

If Howard leaves that means we have to share a conference with Coppin, MESU, Del State and WSSU. Uh no thanks those schools suck.

Now the question is if Hampton leaves would you care? The MEAC would be hurt, but the MEAC will survive if Howard leaves, where are they going to go? Yeah right LOL.
