For any Bison (or Aggies) that went to the game, how did the Aggies bungle this one.

UNDERACHIEVEMENT - that's the only way anyone can describe the 2008 Aggie Basketball campaign. It's time to stop sugarcoating tihs Thumb Down Thumb Down

I attended the game. Howard, which has nothing to lose at this point, played inspired basketball (offense and defense) yesterday vs A&T. If this carries over to Raleigh next week, the Bison could surprise somebody, especially any team that sleeps on them.

Realistically I think you have to give him two more seasons. With seven seniors on this years team we already know next year is almost certainly going to be a down year. That's what makes this team so disappointing.

you're right decks, i'm a little nervous about next year. sure hope eaves can find a stud or two to go along with the four recruits he already has signed. but in terms of the 7 seniors, only 3 of them will be missed. rush, wills, and ewing. next year, we won't even notice that nelson, chaplin, and gregg graduated. we may miss hernandez a little though. i wasn't sold on him at first, but he's turned out to be an excellent role player. but alston, johnson, and porter are as good if not better than nelson, chaplin, and gregg. rush will be hard to replace but coleman will be better than wills...

Confused talent? what talent? one 1st team all meac guard and one 2nd team all meac forward. you call that talent? where the rest? a lot of folks make the same mistake that the players made. just because we beat Depaul, everybody thinks we have a bunch of talent. but anytime you leave rush and ewing open, you're in for a long night. that's what happened to Depaul. once you shut them down, anybody can beat a&t. i've said that all along...

What other team other then Hampton had 2 preseason all MEAC picks?
I seen A&T play twice last year and twice this year on TV. I would start:

Point guard - Glenn Nelson
Guard - Steven Rush
Forward - Jason Wills
Forward - Ed Jones
Center - Thomas Coleman

I would bring Austin Ewing and Angelo Hernandez off the bench.

Wasn’t Glenn Nelson a starter last year? I can remember him coming to Baltimore and having a good game. Jason Wills was also a good player last year. Ed Jones and Thomas Coleman look like good players.

A&T starting 5 are as good as any in the MEAC.

dude, what in the L gives you the impression that nelson should be a starter? dude is very inconsistent and he can't stay in front of nobody in the meac. maybe that he's from the baltimore area has something to do with your affection for nelson. no one on our team has a dominant inside game. wills is good most of the time but not all of the time. rush is just a 3 point shooter, very limited otherwise. wills and rush are our two best players. i like jones but he's too inconsistent and i like coleman but he needs more experience and as a freshman, he's not yet better than the best post players in the league. i sure hope you don't get paid to be a scout for anyone. morgan and hampton are heads and shoulders above the rest of the league in terms of talent. then there's a big drop off. its no upset if any of the other teams lose to each other, the talent disparity is not that great...

I haven’t seen Nelson play this year with the exception of the one shot he hit against DSU when the game was almost over. Last year he was a solid point guard.

Please tell me what teams other then Morgan, Hampton and maybe Howard in the MEAC that has more talent then A&T?

And what other MEAC big man other then Coly is better then Thomas Coleman?

A&T stalls on offense if Rush isn't hitting hots. Eugene Myatt (6-6) and Randy Hampton (6-5) took turns following him around the entire game. When Rush was shut down, the Aggie offense went to sleep.

It should also be noted A&T doesn't have much of an inside game. If the guards aren't nailing shots, offensive rebounding is going to be trouble.

Actually Howard isn't a bad team. I wouldn't say we have tons of talent BUT, we're pretty good. Injuries have absolutely CRIPPLED us all season. We're playing this year w/o a point guard (the most important position on the court). Last season we lost Myatt (our leading scoring) early in the season and our best player off the bench (White). This season injuries have beat us up again.

No offense B Triple or any other Bison alumnus or fan, but when a team 5-23 beats you, it's more an indictment of the team who lost......

Putting a big man on Steven Rush is nothing new. Howard did it in Corbett and even tried to utilize the size discrepancy by having Rush's defender post up on him on the offensive end. This simply isn't some new strategy Howard concocted.

Once again, it's about A&T simply not playing up to their potential. Losing to Bethune-Cookman, WSSU and Howard in a matter of weeks is ridiculous......

morganfan, i never said other teams besides morgan and hampton have better talent. the point i was trying to make is that there is no major disparity in talent between all meac teams excluding morgan and hampton. as far as big men better than coleman; freeman, pilgrim, and harrison at hampton are better this year even though that may not be totally true next year. nsu has more complete guards than we do in lyons, murphy, and deloach. our talent is on par with the other 9 meac teams, no big talent advantage for any of those 9...
