Last season in DC. We were missing Eugene Myatt, Darryl Hudson (who was thrown out early in the game), and Curtis White

oh, okay. i was at that game at burr gym and it wasn't like we got blown out, we only loss by five points. plus, last year we were a below .500 team, i wouldn't consider that a big upset...

I'll repeat this to you. We were missing our 3 top scorers. A&T was the only team we actually beat down the stretch. No it wasn't the upset of the year BUT, it was a game that A&T (with a bunch of juniors) should've lost.

AND dude LOST it on the sidelines for no apparent reason.

i still don’t see that as a big upset, one of those junior starters we found on campus playing intramurals. we only beat howard by four points in greensboro. its not like we were world beaters, plus it was on the road and you’re talking about a team coming off of two consecutive horrid seasons. now our ladies losing to howard that night was an upset but the men? to me, losing to howard was no big deal. just like nsu losing to scsu on the road this weekend was no big upset…

I remember hearing about that game as well, when he lost his composure on the sideline at Howard.

Here it is again this year. It made absolutely no sense for Eaves to lose his composure against WSSU. We were only down 3 points with 30+ seconds left in the game.....and he blows a few gaskets.

Everyone loses - from Memphis on down to New Jersey Institute of Technology. But I get concerned about THE WAY WE LOSE.

He cost us the game with his subpar coaching and his behavior.

Oldschoolaggie, I'm hoping the former will improve; the latter (his behavior) has gone on ridiculously for too long now. And sitting around fans at Corbett Center, they can give you numerous stories about how this man verbally berates his teams at halftime. It's okay to get on your team, but if you aren't balancing this out with sound tutelage and encouragement, a team cannot improve. Some of these fans (parents of players) really don't respect him.

I didn't start this thread to get the man fired, but this man has to change some of his ways. Aggie basketball definitely won't get better if Eaves doesn't start focusing moreso on......HIMSELF Light Light

It was a game we shouldn't have lost. It's time to stop making excuses for the team underperforming.

i have no doubt that you're speaking the truth superstar. having coached high school and aau basketball myself for 15 years, i have a different perspective on coaching than the casual fan. no matter how good a coach is, i've never seen a coach that someone somewhere doesn't agree with or doesn't like his style. and i'm not making excuses decks for under performance. but i lived thru the lean years and i simply have more patience than most, it took a long time just to get to where we are now. and for every game we "shouldn't have loss" i can show you a game we shouldn't have won. its not like we have block buster recruits on this team (except maybe the freshman coleman). eaves is the best coach we've had since jeff capel left in the 90's and we just haven't had very much success hiring good coaches. that's why i don't get bent out of shape because of an imperfection here or there...

Confused speaking of the freshman thomas coleman, is it me or is his shooting mechanics (especially free throw shooting) "severely" screwed up! the next time you have a chance, check out his follow-through, his elbow/arms are all over the place. eaves really needs to correct that, perhaps during the offseason because its too late in the season to do now...

What he did was just sooooo immature. They could came back but he just lost his cool and basically lost the game for us. I really hope he can hold that temper in check for the rest of the season and the tournament.

I JUST DON'T GET IT Confused Confused Confused Confused

For any Bison (or Aggies) that went to the game, how did the Aggies bungle this one.

UNDERACHIEVEMENT - that's the only way anyone can describe the 2008 Aggie Basketball campaign. It's time to stop sugarcoating tihs Thumb Down Thumb Down

i was there. the aggies played "horrible" defense despite the fact that we "may" have had more aggies at the game than bison. burr was at least 3/4 full and there was a whole lot of gold shirts up in there! too bad the guys didn't take advantage of it. our defense was "way too soft"! we gave the bison wide open 3's and they knocked 'em down. poor performance by the aggies, no doubt about it...

A&T has been underachieving the whole year. They are one of the most talented teams in the MEAC.
I would give the coach one more year to show if he can lead this team.

Realistically I think you have to give him two more seasons. With seven seniors on this years team we already know next year is almost certainly going to be a down year. That's what makes this team so disappointing.

Confused talent? what talent? one 1st team all meac guard and one 2nd team all meac forward. you call that talent? where the rest? a lot of folks make the same mistake that the players made. just because we beat Depaul, everybody thinks we have a bunch of talent. but anytime you leave rush and ewing open, you're in for a long night. that's what happened to Depaul. once you shut them down, anybody can beat a&t. i've said that all along...

There are at least four MEAC teams with more talent than A&T (MSU,Hampton,HU,DSU);however there is no one with more experience. A senior dominated team at this level should always contend for a conference championship. Four of our seniors are guards which imho should give us an advantage.

What other team other then Hampton had 2 preseason all MEAC picks?
I seen A&T play twice last year and twice this year on TV. I would start:

Point guard - Glenn Nelson
Guard - Steven Rush
Forward - Jason Wills
Forward - Ed Jones
Center - Thomas Coleman

I would bring Austin Ewing and Angelo Hernandez off the bench.

Wasn’t Glenn Nelson a starter last year? I can remember him coming to Baltimore and having a good game. Jason Wills was also a good player last year. Ed Jones and Thomas Coleman look like good players.

A&T starting 5 are as good as any in the MEAC.

Morgan and Hampton has the most talent in the MEAC.
Howard starting 5 is really good. I am not sure why their record is so bad.

DSU only has 1 player as do UMES.

My top 4 talented teams are:
Morgan
Hampton
Howard
A&T

I only saw NSU once this year. They beat my bears and are second in the conference so they must have some players.

dude, what in the L gives you the impression that nelson should be a starter? dude is very inconsistent and he can't stay in front of nobody in the meac. maybe that he's from the baltimore area has something to do with your affection for nelson. no one on our team has a dominant inside game. wills is good most of the time but not all of the time. rush is just a 3 point shooter, very limited otherwise. wills and rush are our two best players. i like jones but he's too inconsistent and i like coleman but he needs more experience and as a freshman, he's not yet better than the best post players in the league. i sure hope you don't get paid to be a scout for anyone. morgan and hampton are heads and shoulders above the rest of the league in terms of talent. then there's a big drop off. its no upset if any of the other teams lose to each other, the talent disparity is not that great...
