This is definitely not a first. The Hampton/Howard game is going to be big no matter what. It'll sell out regardless of whatever is going on across the water - truthfully, we've never really cared about their events and games anyway.

And to be honest, we've never really cared about your events and games as well. You can best believe that.

Well I don't know about all of that. It seems we have a lot more NSU folk on our campus for events than the other way around. In some cases, we've had brawls & events shut down due to rowdy NSU students.

Yeah, I remember Hamptonite crying about NSU folks beating him up in NORFOLK and stealing his car radio. Roll Eyes

* I STILL can't pawn that 8-track I got out of his car* Mad

So I guess both statements "who cares about what goes on at the other campus" are BS, huh?? Roll Eyes

I distinctly recall 80% of the Hampton band attending the Labor Day Classic in Norfolk over the years. Roll Eyes

AND THE LEGION SHALL REIGN SUPREME.

In 2007, NSU is the highest ranking HBCU and is ranked at #7 in the FCS with 103,320 accumulated attendance...NSU average game attendance was 17,220."

Aside from what the band members do (who are already on campus) and may not have their own game to attend, GENERALLY NSU tends to be much more aware of what goes on at HU than the other way around. We're talking about some students at HU who had hardly ever heard of Norfolk State until they came to Hampton. Its not a bad thing, not smack.

Considering most of your students are not from Hampton Roads, I can believe that. That could actually apply to a lot of schools, HBCU or not. Hell, I never heard of NSU till I joined the Army and a friend of mine commented that was where he went to school.

But once school is in session, students are students, and they will eventually end up partying at the same locations, be it Hampton or Norfolk.

do you really believe more nsu students come to your events??? hampton events are almost always closed to outsiders for one, and other than OFF-CAMPUS PARTIES there is NO REASON to waste your gas going to events in hampton, va.

i believe that the arguement is event versus event. if hampton has a football game and nsu has a football game, there will be more pirates in norfolk. if nsu has a step show and hampton has a step show there will be more pirates in norfolk. if there is a battle of the bands at nsu and a battle of the bands at hiu (gawd forbid) there will be more pirates in norfolk. if there was a sale at target in hampton and one in norfolk... well, you get my point.

...the ONLY chance hampton EVER has in beating us in attendance is when howard comes around... check the stats.

Let's talk about HIU's entire football team attending NSU's sweatboxes, which is for NSU students. Art, you forgot about their band attending the A&T battle of the bands.
