 Good game Aggies.  Now, if we can just get outta Norfolk with our furry hides intact, the most likely team to go to and get thru a round in the playoffs will be on their way. (and yall know I'm not lying) Why in the crappity crap we have a baseball tournament that generates no funds is beyond me. 6 blaming teams and all you need is buzzard luck to be out. I would say 85-90% of the college baseball tournaments don't make money, but you still gotta play them. It takes a lot more than luck to win one...the #1 seed has won at least the last 5 or 6 MEAC Tournaments offhand, maybe more, b/c the way the gosh dang bracket is drawn up, the top seed gets a bye after playing just 1 game. Couple that fact that with the fact that you gotta lose twice to be out, and it definitely favors the top seed. I don't think any team that has been eliminated can say they are out due to buzzard luck. UMES just stinks, DSU played very poorly, FAMU did about what you thought they would (win a game, be competitive in a couple of losses-still a year or two away), and NSU, which underachieved during conference play, started to play to their potential. If you judge based on the entire year performance, BCU, NCAT and NSU were the best teams all-around (counting non-conference), and that's what it came down to. Interesting that those 3 were the only 3 teams ranked in that HBCU Division I poll...even though NSU was #4 and had two unranked teams (DSU, FAMU) ahead of them. Guess they knew what they were talking about. Just my 3 cents. |
