With tonights Banquet, does anyone have any predictions for who they think well be named to the various awards? Mens and Womens Player of the Year, Rookie of Years, and All MEAC teams? I'll be at the banquet and will try to post the real winners as they are named.

All-Conference |
Men's POTY: Jamar Smith from Morgan (Roy Bright a close 2nd if I had a vote)
Men's Rookie: Davis from UMES or Bennett from SCSU (they're the 2 leading rookie scorers I think) Men's Coach: Bozeman Women's POTY: Toughest call...probably Oakley from Coppin or Bland from NCAT, though McBride from UMES will probably get some votes Women's Rookie: Morton from UMES maybe? Women's Coach: Bibbs. Men's 1st team: Bright, Jamar Smith, Coly, Rashad West, Tony Murphy Women's 1st team: McBride, Bland, Cook (A&T), Oakley and Suber for my votes, though Adams from Morgan could replace Cook from A&T. |

If Tiny Adams is not on the 1st team it would be a crime.

Are they selecting by position? If so either Adams or Cook will be left off the first team. Both are POY candidates but play the same position. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ A&T Class of 2020 |

Yeah Coppin’s Oakley is probably the best pg in the MEAC.
I think the women championship is going to come down to A&T vs Coppin. Coppin is regaining their old form. This should be a great game. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Time can be your best friend or worst enemy. |

No, it's just the top 5 regardless of position. Still, I think 1 of those 2 gets left off anyway. |

On the men’s side I like the 6’8 rookie from Howard.
I am not sure of his numbers but if he keeps developing he will be a beast. On the women side Morgan’s Teresa Davis should make the all rookie team. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Time can be your best friend or worst enemy. |

Men
Jamar Smith- MSU, Boubcar Coly-MSU, Roy Bright-DSU, Tywain McKee-CSU, Tony Murphy-NSU POY - Boubcar Coly-MSU Ladies Oakley-CSU, Suber-CSU, McBride-UMES, Cook-A&T, Adams-MSU POY,Oakley-CSU ROY,Sams-A&T It is tough to phantom leaving Amber Bland off the first team. The Aggies were just so deep it made it tough for anyone to have big numbers. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ A&T Class of 2020 |

I think Jamar Smith should win the POY but Coly would be a good choice.
Coly has no equal in the MEAC. We can argue about who is the best guard or forward but when talking about big men its Coly and then everyone else. His scoring average might hurt him but he blocked shots, controlled the boards, and played great defense. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Time can be your best friend or worst enemy. |

Remember, they added a defensive player of the year a couple years ago, and Coly is a shoo in for that. |

Tony Murphy is a great kid, but not a clutch player, don't see him as a 1st teamer sorry to say.

I don't know how much of a clutch player he is but look at how much he's helped NSU to move up to 3rd this year. He basically replaces Steven Rush. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ A&T Class of 2020 |

CLutch or not, who would you replace him with? Ed Tyson, the gunner without a conscience on the last place team in the league? We've been down that road before, and is name was Tee Trotter. He never made 1st team All-MEAC either.. FWIW, Murphy did make the winning 3 at the buzzer to beat Richmond earlier this season, probably the 3rd best OOC for any MEAC team (behind A&T over DePaul and Hampton over VCU). |
