WNYW/Ch. 5 weekend sportscaster Reischea Canidate is leaving the station, sources told the Daily News. Canidate is headed for ESPN, and is expected to start at ESPN News after the first of the year.

Canidate, the weekend sports anchor and reporter since she arrived at Ch. 5 in 2002, can be seen Fridays and Saturdays at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. and as co-host of "Sports Extra" on Sundays.

She has also subbed on weeknights and served as a sports reporter for weeknight newscasts.

Before arriving in New York, Canidate worked for KSWB-TV in San Diego. - Richard Huff

Reischea Canidate was in New Haven or somewhere else in the Northeast doing sports.As usual the fratboys are hating.She's ok,but not in Sage Steele league in reporting sports news.
