No sense in fighting it. Hampton is better and you all know it that's why you all are always trying to tear us down.

Congratulations to the Lady Pirates. I really don't believe in a "good loss." The lady Aggies didn't look good vs WSSU and they had 29 turnovers against Howard.

They've gotta improve - I hope they haven't peaked too early....

I remember folks were lambasting Hampton's women coach a few weeks ago. I'm interested to see if his perceptions of him have changed.

In the end and down the stretch I bet Hampton won the game on the foul line. Also, I bet the refs missed alot of Hampton travel calls. The tall african girl (Okoh or whatever her name is) always walks. Hampton won't have those homer refs in Raleigh.

My perception of Hampton Women's Basketball and their coach has not changed. Let's see what happens away from the confines of that homer ref inhabited Hampton Convocation Center.

I know against Morgan, Hampton went to the foul line 49 TIMES and ended up winning by 5 or 6. We killed them when they came to B-more. They turned the ball over like bag ladies 33 TIMES.

Lady Aggies should be okay going into the tournament. You probably just finished playing 8 people against your 5. It's tough to get a evenly called game in the Hampton Convocation Center.

I do most recently the Giants loss to NE last game of season. Back in the 80's the Lady Pirates won all their games but loss to virginia State in the CIAA finals....you know what the Lady Pirates not only met the Lady Trojans in the playoffs but won the NCAA Division II championship!!! The best womans team I have ever seen!!!

Mr Band,
The comparison between the plights of Aggie women's bball and the Giants isn't a good one.

The Giants were floundering for much of the year - when they played the Pats in the regular season, it "woke them up" and helped them realize what they could do if they got their acts together.

For the lady Aggies, they've been steamrolling folks all year. They didn't go into the Hampton game to gauge themselves against the best. They have been the best. The last few outings for the Lady Aggies just haven't been good ones. I thought they were extremely sloppy against WSSU....and 29 turnovers against Howard - that's ridiculous.

Ain't nobody going to roll over and crown their azzes in Raleigh - they've gotta earn the tourny title by playing sound ball. When one team sees another team for a third time, ain't nothing new - unexpected things can pop off. Cage-Bibbs has to get this team refocused - AND FAST Smoke

Just got in from the game. The Lady Aggies didnt play up to their potential tonight. Some very questionable and missed calls by the refs during the last two minutes helped the Pirates at the end.
Thumb Down

Good game Lady Pirates. Hope to see you again in Raliegh. Wink

I dont know what place oldsport speaks of but anyone that knows that Hampton gets very little to no home court advantage. Calls rarely go Hamptons ways at home and the crowd was pro A&T as HU is on spring break this week. The game was poorly officiated both ways the whole game. and unfortunately there were some questionable calls but they went both ways.As Hampton shot 23 FTs to A&T's 20 and a total of 15 fouls on hampton and 16 on A&T.

I seem to remember an HU win over NSU last year on the women's side where everyone (other than the 3 refs) saw the Hampton girl shoot the ball after the buzzer and red light went off, but they counted it anyway.

that call can happen anywhere when u have a microscopic light behind the basket. It was a bad call on review, but refs r taught to look for the light and not listen for the horn, so that wasnt his fault. After the game he even admitted he was wrong when he watched the replay after the game.Thats why we should have replay. I agree with you but thats not home court advantage thats human error.

The women played a great game. I don't think you can take anything away from them. They did everything they could do to pull out the win.

However you want to look at it the Pirates made the shots down the stretch and pulled out the win. I called the game for Hampton and saw little if any influence from the refs.

Yeah, yeah, yeah! And I guess the refs were also responsible for the fact that the Lady Aggies shot only 43.7% from the field compared to the Lady Pirates' 56.7%, huh? Yeah, right! Face it, the Lady Aggies lost tonight's game by their own doing or lack thereof when it counted most--just like the Aggie men. Game over! Move on.

That said, I will be very surprised if the Lady Aggies do not emerge as the 2008 MEAC tournament champions. However, it would be foolhardy to expect their tournament opponents to hand them the tournament trophy on a silver platter.

I'm glad we won, but I know A&T will get there act together b4 the tourney, but in reference to ALL the MEAC REFEREES: They miss calls and honestly, I think sometimes they don't know all of the calls, that's why they don't call them. I wish for the tournament, they would bring in some Mid-Major refs, b/c them missing so many calls will not help ANY team that makes it to the NCAA's b/c they are going to catch and call EVERYTHING!!!!
