Shaq hater.....wait till next year and see Shaq get that ring, that's his pattern he doesn't like to give you all the goods the first year.

Shaq was not the problem. Well he did miss 11 free throws. But without him, they have no chance of defending Duncan. Stoudemire is overrated. The SUNS made a bundle of dumb plays including all the turnovers down the stretch. The SUNS are just not mentally tough enough to win big games. Nash was 4 for 16 from the floor with only 3 assist. They can look in the mirror on this one.

I thought Shack was supposed to bring a defensive presence to the Suns which experts said they lacked.
I thought the Suns abandoned the style that brought them success, & that was spreading the court, & cutting to the basket for quick easy baskets under Nash's floor generalship. Then several of their players started jacking up 3s, & waiting on passes while standing behind the 3 point line, instead of cutting to the basket. Shack's presence further discouraged that cutting style, because he rented space on the lower lane. And I'm not saying they would've won a Championship by now, but why develop a successful style, then abandon it in the playoffs. Way to go Spurs. By the way, did Steve Nash look sickly last night, as if he'd lost lots of weight. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "Tis better to light a candle than curse the darkness". |

D'Antoni, Suns might part ways after first-round loss
ESPN.com news services Updated: April 30, 2008, 4:53 AM ET Comment Despite averaging 58 regular-season wins in the last four seasons, Mike D'Antoni might be out as Phoenix Suns coach. An SI.com report on Tuesday night said that the coach will not return after his team was eliminated 4-1 by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs. D'Antoni The Arizona Republic did not go as far, saying it was unlikely that the coach would be fired with two years and $8.5 million left on his contract. But the newspaper confirmed part of a recent Sports Illustrated article which chronicled a confrontation between D'Antoni and general manager Steve Kerr. In a November conversation, Kerr reportedly suggested that the Suns run more post-up plays for forward Amare Stoudemire. D'Antoni objected, with a shouting match ending in the coach telling the GM not to tell him "how to coach offense." That jibes with Tuesday's SI.com report which cites sources within the organization saying that D'Antoni does not feel he has the support of owner Robert Sarver or Kerr, who took over as GM in June. While the Web site did not say that D'Antoni's firing is imminent, it did speculate that he would not be discouraged from pursuing opportunities with the Chicago Bulls or New York Knicks, among other teams. D'Antoni wouldn't be the only successful coach on the hot seat this season. Immediately after the Dallas Mavericks were eliminated from the playoffs on Tuesday, Avery Johnson's status appeared to be in limbo. ESPN.com's Marc Stein recently reported that his job would be in serious jeopardy if he did not make it out of the first round. Having been eliminated by Tim Duncan and the Spurs in three of their last four playoff appearances heading into this season, Phoenix made a bold move to take the next step in February. The Suns sent four-time All-Star forward Shawn Marion and guard Marcus Banks to the Miami Heat for Shaquille O'Neal, hoping the former MVP would provide the inside presence the team had lacked. Phoenix sported a 37-17 record when O'Neal first took the court for the Suns and finished out the season at a little slower pace, ending at 55-27. O'Neal did average 15.2 point and 9.2 rebounds against the Spurs, but his poor free-throw shooting cost Phoenix in the series. San Antonio's Hack-a-Shaq philosophy resulted in the big man going to the line a whopping 20 times in Game 5 alone, but he hit only nine in the 92-87 loss. He shot 50 percent from the line (32-of-64) in the series. D'Antoni has a 267-172 record in six seasons as an NBA coach. He is credited with helping to revive the running game in the league at a time when scores were plummeting amid pedestrian half-court offenses. Failing to blend his philosophy with a new general manager in Kerr, who then brought in O'Neal, might ultimately be what puts the brakes on this Suns era. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ J Stowe knows that the present is a gift... Hater in the House!!
Not a problem.... Shaq deserves the ridicule. He's a liar...fake...phony...ego maniac. How do I know? Never met the man but, he contradicted himself to the press. He acknowledge not reporting all of the facts about why he was traded. He waited three years to set the record straight. In the meantime he allow the public to perpetuate this lie about Kobe asking for him to be sent away. It wasn't true and he knew it. Shaq - "When people doubt me I tend to win rings". Puleeeezzzz. He needs to still be thanking D Wade. The rings we won in L.A. were rings we/he should have won. The ones we lost later.... Oh well, trade time. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Howard U......Black America's University. |

True dat....but once the pattern persist and starts raising eyebrows the employees will bitch. That means you're probably abusing it Shaq.
What does Phoenix do? They had a coach that change the way the NBA was running their offenses. If you notice everybody is doing the Steve Nash "loop de doop" in the paint. The drive down the lane..curl out and kick it back to a trailer play is being used by many in the West. Tony Parker is doing it. AI did it with Denver this year. D'Antoni wants his props and he wasn't feeling that trade. The Suns are stuck with Big Fat Daddy for two more years. The coach is outta there. Come to Washington, DC. After tonight we'll need a coach. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Howard U......Black America's University. |

This is why I thought Steve Nash was overrated with those MVP's. Ya'll remember me saying the "coach" should have been credited with the Suns success..not Nash. Nash played for years in Dallas and all of a sudden he's a back to back MVP in Phoenix? Something smells...We see the real deal now. Nash is lost without the Matrix. Didn't have an assist until the second half. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Howard U......Black America's University. |

Shaq has no idea how to embrace the low-post passing, rebounding, shot-blocking persona that Wilt adopted in his later years with the Lakers. And the Suns did not really fully incorporate him. Makes me wonder if D'Antoni really wanted him (I think not). And Nash didn't look sickly to me but rather embarassed when the huge defensive hole in his game was exposed. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "The media want to maintain their intimate relation to state power. They want to get leaks, they want to get invited to the press conferences. They want to rub shoulders with the Secretary of State, all that kind of business. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." - Joseph Goebbels, German Minister of Propaganda, 1933-1945 |

Shaq was not the problem in this series, he was brought in to get rebounds and that's what he did he gets usually around 11pts are so, so he did his part. Steve Nash, the assist king, had only 3 for the game and committed turnovers in the crucial minutes of game 5. Amare, who normally gets at least 25pts in a game, only got 15 last night. Usually for the Suns to get going one of the their other players or a combination of the two (Bell, Barbosa, Diaw, Hill) have to have a good night, especially behind the 3pt line. So, there is enough blame to go around that whole team. Shaq has accepted his roll as non-leading scorer, rebounder, and is, for him, doing better at the free throw line. Give him a break!

Sorry, Shaq did'nt defend Duncan all that well this series, you think he is gonna get better for next year, I seriously doubt it. He will not have had the benefit of sitting on his arse half the year and then coming to the team with 100 of his energy. He will be so beat by playoff time, I bet you he won't do so well next season. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
