John Thompson also played for Red Auerbach in Boston, and the Georgetown program was horrible at the time.

Regardless, he had no college coaching experience at the time. It was his ability to coach, recruit and win that made basketball the number one sport at Georgetown, not the other way around. I'm not calling her the female John Thompson, I'm saying she was very successful at a competitive high school level. Knowing the previous condition of the program, small steps in the right direction will be appreciated. We can afford to be patient.

I read fine. The article says, and I quote "Gibson’s three-year, $90,000 contract...". A $90,000 contract is a $90,000 contract, not a $270,00 contract.

No.. the article described the contract wrong. Usually when you see 3 year/90k contract that means 3 divided by 90. Like A-rod's 10 year/250M.

Thanks for the clarification.

The FAMU Board of Trustees on Wednesday approved a three-year contract for Gibson with an annual salary of $90,000.

Come on people and read both of the articles. Stop acting foolish. How can FAMU go from paying their last coach $120 per year to paying their next coach $30,00 per year? Confused

If something doesnt look or sound right maybe it needs some clarification. This information was found in the next article posted on the a few post down from the original post. Laugh

I wish her and FAMU the best.

Our womens Bball coach is nipping at the heals of some MEAC Football HC salaries, so the salary discussion should cease.
