JSU has good bball attendance but I think TNState is the class of HBCU's in that regard.

Trust me I can find more, you guys are so easy. Every post you make has inaccurate information. I guess none of the aggie posters majored in journalism. I can pull more, but I do have a job and work to do.

Well actually Hampton led in bball attendance 1999-2003 (5 years), as I have mentioned that before, so it wasn't a one year thing. So, if folks wanna smack Hampton's attendance- leave it at our mediocre football numbers, but not basketball. And Im certainly not bragging b/c I don't see why we can't have those numbers now. However, by season's end we could still average @3000. Also FYI- Norfolk St led attenance in 1998. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Still wearing thy colors....THE BLUE AND THE WHITE !!

c/o 2001- QTIV |

yeah, i applaud BCU. NSU should be averaging ALOT more, i'm dissappointed in us... we should be around 3k already. the battle of the bay will help, but we should do better.

I'm just curious as to if this is a one-sided gym? In any event, this is still a nice-sized crowd.

Somehow, Hampton always manages to inflate its sport event attendance figures. I know. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I owe Morgan a debt I can never fully repay. |

Can we please stop comparing b-ball with football; they are APPLES & ORANGES...
Anyways, as the game progressed, Aggies, all over the gym, were cheering so all pigeons and brainless sheep stop with the "Aggies only cheer on foul-outs" talk! And I am pretty sure that Corbett will have the 5 highest attended games this season since we have Hampton (TV), Howard & Del. St. (TV double header) on the schedule. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ A&T Class of 2008! "I BELIEVE IN NORTH CAROLINA A&T." |

I see the real badsport is back from taking a brief break from being unpredictable. I know its hard to give Hampton credit for the slightest little accomplishment, but these figures are from the official NCAA website, the same links that were already posted. I attended many of those games, and the HUCC was usually about half full. Some of the those years, other schools weren't even close & given the time period it makes sense. Is that a bragging point? No. But no need to dispute the facts, Hampton led those years with an average of over 3,000 fans- case closed. PERIOD. END OF STORY. But this is not about what team lead what sport in attendance in what years- ALL OF OUR SCHOOLS need to do better with our attendances, Hampton included. Even though A&T is the second largest school in the conference, all of our schools should focus on increasing our bball fanbases. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Still wearing thy colors....THE BLUE AND THE WHITE !!

c/o 2001- QTIV |

Look, I have attended many, many Hampton University Home Basketball Games. I don't think I have ever seen 3,000 actual attendees at a Hampton University Basketball Game. Now, that's not to say there were not paid corporate ticket guarantees. However, Hampton averages 3,000 butts in the seats per game. NO friggin way! It's almost as bad as the 17,000 seat capacity Armstrong Stadium stretch. This message has been edited. I'm pretty sure Corbett won't have ALL 5 of the highest games this season. Both NSU & Hampton may have something to say about that as both Battle of the Bay games could be over 6,000+. Plus Hampton also plays Howard & Del State at home. SC State plays A&T, Coppin plays at Morgan, BCU plays at FAMU and A&T plays AT Winston. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Still wearing thy colors....THE BLUE AND THE WHITE !!

c/o 2001- QTIV |

Of course you've never seen it, but everyone else has. This was the peak of the Merfeld era and FOLKS WERE THERE! Games against Norfolk St, Howard, SCSU for the season title, Del St, UNC etc were all huge games just to name a few (some almost sellouts), but of course I wouldn't have expected you to see but a few hundred people in your eyes. Thank goodness the NCAA doesn't rely on your perception. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Still wearing thy colors....THE BLUE AND THE WHITE !!

c/o 2001- QTIV |

Emphasis on the word "COULD" Both battle of the bay games could but the only place that would have a chance of this would be Norfolk St simply because of their fans. I'm sorry but Hampton has developed a rep for having pretty apthethic fans but Hampton COULD be changing everyones prospective on this _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ A&T Class of 2008! I don't get too bent out of who's leading in attendance figures. The question should be ----- BASED ON THE CAPACITY OF YOUR GYM, WHAT PERCENTAGE OF SEATS ARE FILLED FOR YOUR AVG HOME GAME???
For example - BCU's Moore Gym holds 3000 folks - if 2900 are coming to the game, I'm more impressed by those numbers than say only 4,500 fans normally going to Norfolk State's Echols Hall, which holds 7000. I guess with this subject, folks can use whatever numbers in a way to make his/her school look better. |
