Let's not forget most teams in MEAC are either running some form of triple-option offense or spread offense like Florida Gators, West Virgina, Texas and Florida..

The SWAC has four outstanding head football coaches in Rick Comegy, Pete Richardson, Rod Broadway and Anthony Jones.. You have give honorable mention to Praire View A&M head football coach Henry Frazier.. Again, the SWAC has tradition of having coaches that innovators unlike MEAC..

Yeah, Billy Joe and Steve Wilson did brought new life to MEAC Football back in 90's and early part of this decade with their wide-open pro-style offense..

Now coaches most of the coaches in SWAC are winning games with run-n-shoot offense, pro-sytle offense, fast break shotgun offense and Run-n-gun offense..

Again, if you fan of the passing game and great defense then best conference is the SWAC..

Finally, I believe Ryan Perrilloux is making great decision comming to hbcu's.. It would be nice see SWAC play more diffcult non-conference schedule though..

So you wouldn't put Alvin Wyatt in this mix?

Or Pete Adrian or Don Hill/Al Lee?

Both Howard and Hampton have unknown coaches who can turnout to be pretty good.

Alvin Wyatt and BCC has been major player in the MEAc conference since 2003. Also Coach Wyatt still think he can win championships with triple-option offense.. Teams are now winning championships with wide-open offense..

Donald Eley-Hill hasn't won any conference titles at Morgan State. He doesn't deserves to be mention as one of the top coaches in conference.. However, he has does an excellent job as recruiter though..

Thumb Up

FYI, JSU was scheduled to play Northwestern State to open this season at NWSU. ESPN bought us out of that contract to put us in the SWAC/MEAC Challenge. I'm guessing we'll resume the series with NWSU in the very near future.

I still don't see your justification stating that the SWAC coaching and coaches are better than the MEAC coaching and coaches? Confused

You can add Texas Southern's new coach, LC Cole, to the list of quality coaches in the SWAC.

Joe Taylor won four sbn national titles during his coaching career at Hampton.. And Al Lavan won ASW black national title.. While coaches three coaches in eight national titles combine... Pete Richardson won four sbn national titles during his stint at Southern University.. Coach Rick Comegy won NAIA national title at Central State University and black national title at Tuskegee.. Let's not forget about Rod Broadway and his success at NCCU.. Where he won 2005 prestige black national title and sbn national title..

Morgan had the top defense in Div. 1AA and was 5 plays away from winning the MEAC.
Morgan beat MEAC champ DSU but a bad call by the refs denied Morgan a touchdown and gave it to DSU.

Morgan lost to both Hampton and SCST in overtime because of a poor decision by the QB.

Don Hill is still young (36) and a very good coach. He will win a championship soon.

"History is not a procession of illustrious people. It's about what happens to a people. Millions of anonymous people is what history is about." - James Baldwin

" ... the United States, for generations, has sustained two parallel but opposed states of mind about military atrocities and human rights: one of U.S. benevolence, generally held by the public, and the other of ends-justify-the-means brutality sponsored by counterinsurgency specialists. Normally the specialists carry out their actions in remote locations with little notice in the national press. That allows the public to sustain its faith in a just America, while hard-nosed security and economic interests are still protected in secret. ": Robert Parry, investigative reporter and author

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." - Joseph Goebbels, German Minister of Propaganda, 1933-1945

I knew you were a big Al Lee fan.
The combination of Hill and Lee is just getting started. If they can stay together they will win plenty of championships. Not just in the MEAC but beyond.

Morgan is loaded this year (thanks to Hill). They should win a minimum of 8 games.
