I need some GOOD information on this! I found out that my Identity was stolen from me and debit lawyers started to call on Monday. I ordered a copy of my credit report and it showed ALOT of stuff that was not opened by me and I was married back in 1985! In 1985 i was in middle school! Any help would be nice!!!

Call the three major credit organizations and let each know that your identity has been stolen.
Write them as well so you have docoumentation. Ask for a 'flag" to alert you and them to when anyone tries to use your name to get more credit. File a report with the local police( fraud dept) in your city and the city where the fraud took place. Also consult a lawyer, just in case the poerson is found out. You can press charges. I called all three of them but when I called the police they said since the dates are older then 5 years they can't do anything about it and to call Social Security office and I did. And they told me to come down on Tuesday morning.

I got a call this morning! (Yes, Momday morning) from TransUnion saying that some just purchase a car in my wife's name (I ain't married) in Chi-town and they are going to send the Po-po out! Thanks alot for the info! It really helped. Damn.. Yes a shotgun and tank of gas! But a police report has been filed. But here's the kicker.. It was done over the internet! Now how in the hell can you apply for a house loan and get the check from the internet! You might want to contact the Attorney General's office in Cook County and file a complaint with their fraud/Identity Theft Unit. You need professional help as in an attorney. Call the Florida State Bar and ask for a referral:
http://www.floridabar.org/tfb/flabarwe.nsf You may want to contact some of the attorneys up here who are barred in Florida. wildman78 does criminal law (the ugly stuff) so he might not be able to help but he could refer you to someone he knows and trusts - maybe. I regret that I did not see this thread sooner because you need professional assistance fast. Get a good local attorney who practices in the area of consumer protection or ID theft and you should be fine.
