Columbia is really growing so I thought I'd look for a niche I could fit into. That is Construction Cleanup residential and commercial. I've done alot of research and talked to alot of folks in the business. However the I may have missed something. One thing I do notice there is not alot of marketing going on in this field. Word of moth appears to be the thing and hook ups. Any contractors out there?

DIM, good to hear that you're an entrepreneur. In my experience (in the past), dealing with construction contractors can be a trying experience. I don't know if anything has changed, but some them are notorious about making timely payments- to anyone. Subs, building supply companies, vendors, etc. My best advice to you is to talk to folks like the outside contract sales managers at Home Depot, Lowe's, or 84 Lumber, or talk to some of the the subcontractors on site about reputable general contractors that you may want to hook up with.
Also, have you registered as a Minority Business owner with the state/county?? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ With the apparent hardening of hearts by some in America surrounding the issues of inclusion and multiculturalism, black colleges and universities are more important than ever. -Willie Clark FAMU Alumni |
