The situation with Mike Vick got me to thinking about this question:Is it wise for people with that kind of loot to just put it in the bank and live on the interest,or should they also invest some of it in the stock market as well?

Depends on their risk tolerance and overall objectives (capital preservation/wealth building/or some place in between). I don't think the Vick situation is a good example because if you thought there was a chance you had to pay the money back, you would likely put it in a vehicle that guaranteed that at a minimum you would have that money to pay back.
