I remember hearing, over two years ago, that DLP was better than LCD.Now I'm hearing that LCD is better. What gives?
Also, flat screens beat plasmas in quality and is a better television.Your input please.

My 3 ladies surprised me w/ a 40" 1080p LCD Sony for Christmas.....I get a great, super clear picture (using the HDMI input and HD receiver DirecTV ofcourse).....Hardly any reflection...It has 2 Component inputs and 2 HDMI inputs /plus some other inputs (I wish I had 3 HDMI inputs....)

DLP is suppose to eliminate "sports blur" (fast moving objects)....I have watched a few football and basketball games on my set....I haven't seen any probelms......

My remote is a little weak...I wish it was a universal remote...but I can buy one of those....

On a scale of 1-10 I would give my TV a 9 ......

DLP has glare and are much heavier, LCD also have been getting better with fast motion. DLP though much cheaper burn out much faster than LCD & Plasmas. They have guns that must be replaced every few years.

I got a sony LCD XBR 46" 1080P this summer. I got a PS3 for christmas that I have hooked up through HDMI and the Blu Ray picture is beautiful.

LCD. DLP may be cheaper but the whole point of a flat screen tv is that you can hang it and that it is a space saver. The DLP is smaller than the old tube tv's but you still need a stand or put it on the floor or build a built in look for it.

I have both, the LCD is brighter, but the DLP is less expensive, and you can get a 50in DLP 1080p for not that much. AS for as specs my LCD's contrast ration is 5000:1, while my DLP is 10000:1. If you are in front of it the picture is perfect. While with the LCD does not matter where you stand it looks good.

It is more a matter of choice. I like the DLP better.

Crown,

You're right about the picture when seen from an angle other than straight on.But even with that being the case, you still like the LCD better?

I like the DLP better..........Given the price. But if one can afford to buy the larger LCDs that are 1080p, then go for it.
