i dont know about you guys, but i enjoy being outdoors during the warmer months of the year. i am always looking for something new and exciting. what are you already doing or planning to doing in terms of outdoors sporting activities?

for those who care to know, this summer i will focus on water sports. i recently joined a local rowing club here in dc. i start rowing classes in two weeks. after rowing, i will more than likely take a kayaking class and alternate between both throughout the summer. hopefully, i will be able to find time for hiking and cycling.

Thumb Up Thumb Up

Right now, I am doing a lot of boxing in my gym. I am about to start walking more, especially as it gets hotter. I plan on walking 5-10 miles per day this summer.

I a malso looking into golf. I heard you can burn a lot of calories while golfing.

I'm gonna try to get in some walking this summer. I think I'll be more motivated once I get the pedometer I want.

I also have some swim lessons on the agenda.

Oh, yeah - take my bike down and ride it more than once. Frowner

Thanks man!

I have been boxing 5 2-minute rounds lately and have been winded. On Saturday, I did 12 3-minute rounds. I was dying after the 3rd round, but I kept going.

I'm walking a 10k this weekend and a 5k next weekend.

90aggie, if you don't have a pedometer, don't worry about it. Just count how far you walk. That's just as good. Also, if you absolutely need a pedometer, I think you can get one for $5-9 at Wal-Mart.

That's what the pedometer is for, to determine the number of miles, if any, I'm walking. Distractions (dogs, cars, bugs, etc.) will ensure that I lose count if I try to do it myself.

One thing I do, as silly as it may sound, is drive the route I plan on walking 1 time. I know the circle in my neighborhood is right at about 1/5 of a mile. 15 times, and I've walked 3 miles.

Good luck. Thumb Up

I have not added any new outdoor activites yet but I am taking a "spinning" class this weekend. My trainer has me up to 30mins on the bike and thinks spinning might be fun for me Eeker... OH JOY!! LOL

I am wonder if there are any "track clubs" in the area. I want to get back to throwing shotput and discus.

I'm going to ride my bike more often, at least 3-4 times a week. The trip to campus from my place is about 6 miles, and with all those hills, I should get a good workout!

I'm going to hit the fitness center too, and work on my upper body.
