I started with WW on the net which I think many men can enjoy by having all of the tools of WW but not having to go to meetings. I now try to limit myself to 1000 to 1500 calories a day. There is plenty of healthy food out there that taste great and does not cost much (Mitchulina's Lean Gourmet for $1 per meal at Wal-Mart).

THANK YOU!!!
I've been trying to tell Kickin90's about WW for Men. I have quite a few men that have been popping up in my class and about the online website. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ --I'll always dream the impossible dream and I'll reach the unreachable star-- "Do, or do not. Go ahead and tell them the secret.... It's so easy they would swear you were lying to them though. As long as you stay OP...you are guaranteed a loss at the next weigh in.
Do you go to the website forums? Guys on a Diet _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ --I'll always dream the impossible dream and I'll reach the unreachable star-- "Do, or do not. There is no 'try.'" |

I lost 240 lbs on WW from March 03 thru July 04. Over the last 3 years, since I've been lifetime I've gained 20 lbs back and it's been much harder to lose this 20 lbs than it was to lose the 240 the first time around, but I'm still within my lifetime goal so I don't have to pay, but it's been a bitc#.

WOW...... THAT'S AMAZING!!!!!. Tell us everything.
How long did it take? What did you do? Come on give up the goods. The first time I started WW, I lsot 60lbs in 3 months and that included personal training 5 days a week but WW definately helped with my being accountable. My trainer and I would fuss every week after he would read my journal because I always had a "chinese food" cheat day. But I shut him up every week with a 3lb to 5lb weight loss. Well again...GREAT JOB.... those 20lbs are good as gone. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ --I'll always dream the impossible dream and I'll reach the unreachable star-- "Do, or do not. Thank you so much. Also thank you for your encouragement.
To be honest I didn't follow it exactly. I did the following: 1. I did the points program, at the time they didn't have core. 2. I followed it strictly Sunday through Friday and only ate my basic points no activity points and no flex points. 3. I worked out for a 1 hour 5 days a week. 4. (This is where I did my own thing) I weighed in Saturday @ 8:00 AM. After Weigh-in on Saturday I would have whatever I want that day, I wouldn't binge eat but if I craving Pizza, beer, pasta, etc.,I had it and didn't count anything on that day. Again I didn't over do it but if I wanted it I had it, then I got back on it strictly Sunday. To stay on it I never looked at the big picture and made mini-goals along the way. So I always had something to work towards during my journey. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them. Now here are a couple of my favorite sites to get restaurant points from that may not be in the books. http://www.dietfacts.com/ http://www.dwlz.com/restaurants.html _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "ONE MONKEY DON'T STOP NO SHOW!!!" |

That's the same thing I would do. After I weigh in on Saturday morning, I'm officially off program until Sunday 7p but I still pretty much knew my limit but the idea of having those nights to myself kept me sane. LOL 2days before the weigh in, my trainer had me follow is diet. Shredded wheat for breakfast and cabbage the rest of the day.... Truly inspirational..... I have LONG road ahead of me but it's good to see others have gone and made it. Mini goals.... I have to keep remembering that. I think about where I could have been if I had stuck too it from 2005. I'll get there though _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ --I'll always dream the impossible dream and I'll reach the unreachable star-- "Do, or do not. There is no 'try.'" |

The first thing I did was Pray and ask God to please help me with this and show me your way to eat, because through prayer anything can happen. It wasnot funny but I would notice when I had not been reading my Bible enough or Praying enough I would get in a diet rut. I wonder why?
Man I just watch what I eat and eat no more than 1000 calories a day. I started with 1500 calories a day which is about the equivalent of 30 WW points which I was recieving and went lower each day. If I ater over my calories I had to work out and burn the extra calories. I ride a exercise bike which measures calories burned but you can also get pedomiters that count the calories as you walk and burn them. If you want something extra get a 100 calorie snack or fruit or grits and eat fruit or grits for breakfast and lean microwave meals for dinner and supper. Many of the lean meals are great and you don't need to buy the more expensive Ww meals some companies Banquit and Michelina have lean meals for only $1. Now that I have lost the wate and exercise every day I eat the same but supper with my wife and eat small portions of whatever she cooks. Heck you can ever get 100 calorie ice cream bars and sugar free popcicles that have only 33 calories in the whole thing. I just kept the stuff to snack on at home and when I wanted a snack I had one. I also gave up all cafinated drinks and all soda's I drink water all day and flavored water at night. Sure Diet drinks are suger free but the carbs in them make your body create sugar. My heart doctor recomended the soft drink rule and said he has not drinken one in 4 years. I drink one maybe everyother week. This also includes coffee. Heck setting captives free .com has eating plans called the Lord's table where you get diet information from the bible. I read thier plan while eating on the WW plan and it was a big pick me up. The one thing I realy remember was the question "What is a natural function in your Body to tell you when you are hungry?" Your stomach growls dosen't it but many of us eat before that happens. Most of us cannot tell anyone when was the last time thier stomach growled. I believe that this bodily function happens for a reason. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ |
