Has anyone had or knows anyone who has had lap band surgery,which is suppose to be a less invasive form of stomach stapling? What were the results like?

I've known a couple of people who have gotten lap bands, and they seem to be pretty effective. Lap band patients must get the band 'filled' every so often though to maintain effectiveness
I am not as familiar with gastric bypass surgery.

My father had the Gastric Bypass and we had some scary moments but overall it is working. He dropped 140 pounds in a year and a Half. But We talked about the lap band because it's not as risky. But these procedures really should be your last option!
