Since being back with my weight watchers group on Sunday mornings, I have noticed a lot more men attending the class. A few of them are there in support of wives by tackling weight loss together Heart then there are the men going at it alone. It has made for interesting class discussion since more men have joined. Our Sunday group has lost 1254 lbs since Jan 2007. The men have loss quite a bit of it on their own. I think I have heard all I want to hear about men and their belly fat. Big Grin

Check out the website for men....

1st Lady,

Do you go to the Bally's in Greenbelt? I went a couple of times and the "sights" in there had me motivated to go everyday. I live outside of BMORE, but I work in Laurel. It was a little inconvenient, but it was well worth it. Big Grin

I am now a member of Planet Fitness, which only costs $20/mth ($10/mth for others) for a year contract!!!

My coworker is a member of Weight Watchers and she attends the group meetings as well. She said people who attend those meetings have a significantly higher probability of losing weight and maintaining the weight loss. Do you agree with that?

Yes, I go the Bally's in Greenbelt!!! I live in Laurel and going to Greenbelt seems like a chore most nights but the "sights" make up for it. It's funny because I pass Golds and Sports Fit on my way because I don't want to see any Laurel "regulars" while I'm working out.

Yes, I would agree with your friend. Back when I first started Weight Watchers, Bally's, and Personal Training, I was able to lose 60lbs in about 6 months. Then I ended up taking a part-time job that cut into my attending meetings, gym 5 days a week and personal training. I tried going at it alone and it didn't work for me. So you can guess what has happened as a result Frowner. It's been about a month now and I am back to the gym and my meetings but my old trainer is gone... he was all the motivation I needed to come to the gym Wink

You have to find the right Weight Watchers meeting though. I really enjoy the Sunday morning meeting but it cuts in to church. LMAO God knows heart and my body but I think I need to "work it out"...

See you around Bally's!!!! Thumb Up

Do you know if Bally's have a daily rate? I used too many 2 week passes and I think they started to catch on. Laugh

I'm not familiar with a daily rate for Bally's. I was locked into a membership with I took the Discovery Health Challenge.

I usually go Tues and Thurs between 5:30 - 7:30 but I am pretty busy this week. I'll be back Sat and Sun 1:00 -2:30.

Have you ever been to Bally's on Route 40 or White Marsh? I want to check both of them out.

I usually go to the SportFit in White Marsh .... But that is a nice hike up the road especially with these gas prices...

I might switch my membership to the Sportfit in Laurel, but they dont have a pool, basketball court, or tennis courts....

Bally's in Greenbelt is like a damn club... everybody goes there to stand on the wall and look around....

Actually they do Kickin. I go to Sportfit in Laurel. There are actually TWO Sportfits. The one on Rt. 198 has a basketball court, weights, and racquetball courts, and the Sportfit Swimcenter (over on Rt 1) has a pool and some other stuff (I've never been there). One of the packages allows you to use both centers, but I've only been to the one on 198.

I've been there about 3 1/2 years and I like it.

No, not yet. A coworker of mine goes to the one on Route 40 and he said it is okay. I think it has raquetball court(s), or something else, but nothing special. Whitemarsh is too far from where I live.

I was unexpectedly pretty busy Wednesday and Thursday last week as well. I can't go on Tuesday, but I probably will be down there on Thursday. Remember my school and you will know who I am.

What's wrong with that? You can burn some calories in the club. Laugh

But seriously, I never saw anyone just standing on the wall and looking around at the women or the men. I believe everyone is there to workout, but if you see a woman that catches your attention Eeker Blush Crazy, there is nothing wrong with taking a pause to enjoy the view.
