I've begun the process of developing my new body. I had as one of my resolutions to go from 225 to 199.

Well I finally begun the process 2 weeks ago. I've begun by:

1) hanging my meal portions;
2) Greatly reducing sweets from my diet. Especially refined sugar products.
3) Increased my water intake,
4) Begun taking the Melaluca Gold Pack of vitamins,
5) Added meal replacement bars for the late afternoon snack,
6) Added Jello and lowfat Yougurt to the meal mix to replace the fatty sweets.

As of this morning I'm down to 219 after only 2 weeks. Big Pimp

I'm going to add the gym and running next week. I'm expecting to be down to 210-205 by the time I run the Peachtree. Big Grin

I'm b-a-c-k!!!!!!! Laugh

Well that is all good news.

Running will bust up fat like nothing you've ever seen. However most people can't tell you about it because they aren't runners. Just remember your goals when you feel like quiting for no good reason - and listen to music if you can (while keeping safety in mind) because that helps too.

While in undergrad I started running. I had the unfortunate problem of continuously loosing weight when I wasn’t even trying - but those days are gone. About mid spring, I will start running on the mall about 2 times a week.

That jello idea sounds like a winner. I will try it Thumb Up

I fell out of my gym habits last summer and am really pissed at myself...I had lost 10 pounds to that point.

Ever since I gave up beef for Lent, I noticed a small difference, lost about five pounds. I might stick to that diet, and start bringing more food from home, stop eating so much from the vending machine, then eventually get back into the gym.

Treadmills are great, if you use them. I'm a runner, and I'm on my 5th treadmill. I run two to three miles six days a week.

Start out with a program that you can adhere too, like walking 30 minutes a day four to five days a week. Listen to your body, it will tell you when to take a rest. I firmly believe that exercising in the morning yields the best results. Understand that losing weight and keeping it off requires a lifestyle change. Change is the key word. Drink plenty of water, stay away from sodas, junk food, and fried chicken that other folks cook. If you a beer drinker (like me), drink a light beer (Amstel Light is off the hook).

And eat cereal. Instead of eating a big breakfast, eat a bowl of cereal in the morning. It will fill you up, and clean you out.

Make changes down the line with your eating and exercise habits. Count your calories. When you look at those calories being burned on a treadmill, no way will you eat a slice of pound cake that contains 400 plus calories when you know you have to run 3 miles to burn that pound cake off.

Good luck.

Ms Meac,

to get rid of your tummy you have to practically STARVE yourself. i suggest you increase the cardio and eat smaller portions of food. if possible try taking a pilates or yoga class twice a week which definitely develops your core-abs and back.

i don't eat anything with "fat" in it after 800. when you get hungry late at night, remember that apples, plums and grapes are your friend.

you can do all the crunches in the world, but it's a total waste if you aren't eating right.

a fat-burning cardio with an emphasis on the stomach area
don't eat after 7:00 p.m. if you can help it
reverse situps
work your obliques by doing alternate
elbow-to-knee crunches
and DON"F FORGET TO DRINK WATER!!!! Smiler
