i eat avocado (pear) with all of my meals. i cut it in slices and put it on the side of my plate. i particularly like it with rice n' beans.

before you cut avocado make sure it isn't hard as a umm...well rock. it should be firm with a little softness to it. the texture of the avocado should be smooth and creamy. typically, i wait 2-3 days before i cut my avocados.

too late. I already purchased it. I did google it and found that same advice before I purchased it.

I'm obviously not to thrilled about tasting it because I've forgotten I bought it.
Thanks for the reminder Roll Eyes

Confused What are you talking about? Avocado doesn't look like snot. It (the meat) has a firm texture and is greenish yellow. Before Wilma blew it over, we had a tree in our backyard. I especially liked making Guacamole out of them. Thumb Up

I should clarify, avocado looks like snot when Guacamole is made from it. Eeker

And it truly one of the most foul foods I have tasted. We had a tree in Titusville, and I swear, that was one fruit my mother never had to worry about me eating! Thumb Down

I hated guacamole until I came to Atlanta. Now I eat it about 1 to 2 times a month. The mess that most restaurants serve is terrible. But when you've had FRESH guacamole, that has the right balance of onions, tomotoes, jalepenos, salt, pepper and lime juice... Big Grin D-LICIOUS!!!!
