Thanks guys!

I am hooked on a website called www.sparkpeople.com . Instead of spending hours on Meac, I spend most of my time there. It is like myspace, only an online community for people seeking to lose weight> man, I have changed so many of my old habits. I am a junk food addict and right now I am not eating much junk food anymore. Also, I have an online blog/journal. Man, it's all about accountability.

Also, I am walking more and boxing in my garage.

For anyone here who loves to walk: My wife and I just did 30 minutes of interval walking. Man, it felt like we just walked for 2 hours. It's supposed to burn calories for hours after you are done walking. Thumb Up

shine3000, I just signed up as well. I have been at it since the end of Dec2007 and so far I have lost about 25lbs. I have been going to slow and steady route. March was a hard month to stay motivated, but I sprung back in April. I guess it's due to the warmer weather and being able to get out to do yard work.

The site is pretty nice...

Good job man!!! Keep up the good work. Slow and steady is a good way to go. Thumb Up

I'm now down 15 lbs. The weight is starting to melt off. The thing is, I am having a good time doing it. I am eating whatever I choose. For instance, I had 2 pieces of cheese pizza last night for dinner. That beats having 6-8 pieces. Also, I had hot fudge sundae pop tarts on Wednesday. Man, those things are so good!!! But still, I am dropping weight like crazy. I've only been at it for like 2 weeks now. I've dropped my caloric intake from about 3500-4500 calories per day to 1600-2200. Also, we are walking a lot more. We are doing a 5k tomorrow! We are not eating out at all. The only few times I ate "out" recently have been the times when I went to Subway, and I got fairly healthy subs. Man, I realized it's a lifestyle change. All of that low-carb and other crap don't work in the long run. By living our lives the way we are, we are saving money and losing weight. My wife has lost about 7 lbs. too by joining SP.com. She is trying to get back to her petite frame pre-marriage/baby!

That's what's up y'all. I'm still trying to get down to 220 and I have about 25 pounds to go. I just changed my workout to heavy weightlifting 1 day a week instead of 3 and I'm instead doing 3-4 days of cardio and adding a little intensity to it each week. I hope to get to running 3 miles in 30 minutes and maybe bench pressing 405 pounds. I can bench 350 now, but I'll "retire" from heavy lifting after I make 405.

I also participate on Bodybuilding.com's version of Myspace/Spakpeople becuase I'm heavier into weightlifting (even though I'm nothing like a bodybuilder) so I use their lifting techniques and workouts more often. Besides, watching Ronnie Coleman bench 500 lbs. and (he's in his 40s) is enough motivation for me to the gym.
