Last night, I paid $50.85 for 14 gallons to fill up my wife's 4-cylinder Ford Fusion. It wasn't even all the way on empty. Man, I was beyond pissed. I just want to punch someone when I fill up, I just don't know who.

What are you guys paying?

"History is not a procession of illustrious people. It's about what happens to a people. Millions of anonymous people is what history is about." - James Baldwin

" ... the United States, for generations, has sustained two parallel but opposed states of mind about military atrocities and human rights: one of U.S. benevolence, generally held by the public, and the other of ends-justify-the-means brutality sponsored by counterinsurgency specialists. Normally the specialists carry out their actions in remote locations with little notice in the national press. That allows the public to sustain its faith in a just America, while hard-nosed security and economic interests are still protected in secret. ": Robert Parry, investigative reporter and author

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." - Joseph Goebbels, German Minister of Propaganda, 1933-1945

In the past weeks, I have been filling up my 2004 Maxima on $50 and that was with premium fuel. Last night I paid for $50 of mid-grade and my car was not on full. I think I paid 3.76 for mid-grade. Most stations I have passed have premium at 3.99/gallon which tells me $4.50 if just around the corner.

My manual calls for premium but my pocketbook and saying hell-2-da-naw!

I use premium and paid about $50 to fill up my Volvo S40. And to think, Jenna Bush married a man that is going to work in the energy industry in Baltimore and used to work in the White House. I wonder what they pay.

I paid $3.65 for regular (Amoco) on the Eastern Shore when I was there on Saturday.

My neighborhood Exxon was $3.69.

Went down to Waldorf on Sunday and saw $3.83 for regular (Amoco).

If only I could get my 93 Honda Accord back.

The other car at my house is a Suburban and let's just say, I paid the folks $65 and it barely made the halfway mark. I gladly went back to driving my car.

I drive a Pathfinder, Mrs BBT drives a Maxima and on the weekends with the two boys all pile into a Sequoia for Soccer, Birthday Parties and Church. Last week I had to fill up all three within 24 hours and it costs me $211. Needless to say the Sequoia stays parked and we now do Sunday drives in SW Atlanta. To hell with Premium gas!

"S***!" ...

I drove to the pump this morning ... and saw that premium was $3.99 - with CASH - and told my RoadDog "Looks like we BOTH are gonna be drankin' light brew today!" ... And even on the light shtuff, the pump STILL topped off at $80.00 - without filling to the brim.

I'm on my way to the Yankees @ Rays game in a few minutes ... and with a 60-mile roundtrip jaunt facing me, I think I'ma try to offer to buy the chips and peanuts in exchange for my partner driving his Corolla! Wink
