I figured as much, it just read like he wears them regularly. Maybe he's social like that. Big Grin

"Morning suit?" - gotta go look that up.

Back when I was a junior/senior in high school, the top hat was the thing to wear to prom.

OK, tails. Gotcha!

Morning Suits are usually for very fomral events, weddings, dinners.

If you look at old pics of John Kennedy--he wore one to his inaguration dinner.

I think Prince Charles wore one when he married Diana.

Yeah.........I used to as well. And I say "used" to because the ones I have owned over the years have gotten worned and frayed and I haven't bought anything recently. And, sadly, one of my best hat shops in Nashville went out of business a few years ago. Many bruhs here order their hats either on-line, mail-order, or the like.

Like mo'betta, joeneek, and some other bruhs here, I think the fedora and the hat style #4 above are REALLY sharp in cold weather. I gotta tell ya, one of the most STYLISH looks a bruh can step is when he's wearing a top coat or trench coat, gloves, nice muffler (scarve), and a matching lid. Thumb Up

BTW, when I was in Cleveland last summer for mother-in-law's funeral, each of my three brothers-in-law, along with several other bruhs who were family and/or friends, wore "summer" lids with their suits. And at the repast held at the family home afterwards, bruhs who didn't come to the funeral wore summer lids with their leisure wear.

Your humble poster was a lil envious that I didn't have a lid I could rock that day. Laugh

Try your local thrift stores as well Wink (especially the ones in YOUR high-end, gated subdivision, Strike Laugh).

"...wearing a top coat or trench coat, gloves, nice muffler (scarve), and a matching lid" - that was my modus operandi back in my D.C. days.Laugh Big Pimp

All the time. I'm only 37 but love to keep something on my head. Grandma made me wear hats out in the fields as a boy to protect the dome in the summer and keep the heat in the winter. I have pancakes, fedoras and stingy brims mostly. Also, non dress hats galore, from skulls, to ball caps, to visors, etc. I have at least 60+ hats.
