i didnt know that women were helping to pay for engagement rings. i learned something new today.

NSU, you know some ladies pay or help pay cuz they gotta keep up with what sister girlfriend is wearing on her finger. They can't be outdone, they have to compete. Big Grin

Happened to me a long time ago. Here's the story:

I bought the engagement ring and gave it to her. We decided that we wanted to get a set, one that matched completely (his and hers), so we traded the ring that I bought in exchange for payment on the complete set.

Since my ring was included, we were both paying for the set. (I "think" etiquette calls for the bride-to-be to purchase the man's ring).

When the engagement was called off, the rings were sold as a set. Pretty straightforward.
