My husband Tommy and I are Hampton Alumn and just started an online HBCU paraphenalia store for babies (birth up to age 6) because we could not find school gear before heading out to the classic games and homecoming events for our toddlers. In the process, we have networked with different alumn who have online stores who carry unique HBCU adult items (rugs, mugs, auto accessories, care packages, leather jackets, etc.) Could a forum be added called "Where can I find HBCU paraphenalia online?". Those members in the HBCU forum can share experiences (good or bad) in where they shop to get desired items. It would be unique because it is hard (I search daily) to find our businesses WHEN you are ready to buy something. From a business point, most manufacturers require minimum orders like 1,000 units before you can place an order. A lot of businesses are reluctant to do it because it is so hard and too expensive to advertise in Ebony, Essence, Jet, Black Enterprise to find the HBCU market. So it would benefit all HBCU alumn and our future generations to make this addition. It would also help increase exposure to the world and help our HBCUs gain more royalties and recognition if we began to make it easier for folks to buy online. I hope you would consider this request.
