It’s your chance to shine the spotlight on graduates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) who are making a difference and deserve to be recognized. We encourage you to view HBCU profiles and take pride in the achievements of so many of our alumni, and we’re counting on you to nominate anyone who should be honored. In this way we can all take an active part in celebrating, supporting and recognizing the HBCUs tradition of excellence and the accomplishments of their graduates.
From Black Enterprise.com _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "History is not a procession of illustrious people. It's about what happens to a people. Millions of anonymous people is what history is about." - James Baldwin " ... the United States, for generations, has sustained two parallel but opposed states of mind about military atrocities and human rights: one of U.S. benevolence, generally held by the public, and the other of ends-justify-the-means brutality sponsored by counterinsurgency specialists. Normally the specialists carry out their actions in remote locations with little notice in the national press. That allows the public to sustain its faith in a just America, while hard-nosed security and economic interests are still protected in secret. ": Robert Parry, investigative reporter and author "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." - Joseph Goebbels, German Minister of Propaganda, 1933-1945 |
