I know this is in the other forum but this is so scary!!! Us folk here in the Northern VA area will try to keep the rest of you guys aware of what's developing.

At least 20 people were killed in two shootings when a lone gunman opened fire on the Virginia Tech University campus in Blacksburg on Monday, police said. Police said they believe the shooter also is dead. Amie Steele, editor-in-chief of the campus newspaper, said one of her reporters at one of the dormitories where the shootings took place reported "mass chaos."

This is sad, and as usual, the coward takes all accountability out of question by ending his own life.

That's OK. He will answer to a MUCH higher power.

Let us all take a moment (at work or home) to just pause and pray for those that have lost their lives as well as the parents and guardians of the victims.

This IS the WORST nightmare no parent of a college student wants to find out is true...that their child has died of a terrible tragedy.

This news turns my stomach. My office manager has a freshman son at Va Tech that lived in the same dorm as this lunatic. She is frantic cuz she cant get in contact with him. I feel for her. Mark my words, some newsperson will make some comment about one of the dead saying something to the effect that he/she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I maintain this is absolutely untrue. The dead or dying were where they were supposed to be on a college campus in class. There is no such thing as the wrong place and wrong time when you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. Does anyone know if there are specific bans on weapons on campus and if so are there strict no tolerance policies?

I heard something about this earlier this morning but at the time they only said there was a gunman "loose" on campus and I thought nothing of it. Then my daughter called me about a half hour ago from school and asked if I'd heard about it (she's scheduled to go to Va. Tech this summer for 4H).
