FVSU Homecoming Week Oct. 7-13
Fort Valley State University will let the good times roll during its New Orleans-themed Homecoming Week, Oct. 7 – 13. This year’s theme for Homecoming week is “Mardis Gras in the Valley,” based upon the seven days of the crescent city’s celebration. Sunday, Oct. 7, or Spirit Day, a gospel concert will be held at the Pettigrew Center. On Oct. 8, the week officially begins with a flag raising and reception. At 6 p.m. on “Fat Tuesday,” FVSU will host “Fair Night” during the Georgia National Fair at the Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry, followed by a midnight breakfast at the Food Service Center. Festivities will continue with the President’s Committee Round Table and Reception Wed., Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. On Friday, “The Day of the Dead,” a National Alumni Association golf tournament will be held at the Oakview Country Club, followed later in the day by a Hunt-Bond Scholarship Concert and Gala at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 13, or Carnival Day, Homecoming will begin at the Anderson House Museum and Welcome Center.
