Many years ago Southern did a song by the Originals(I think). Going in Circles. They formed circles and played de hel outta that song.

Secondly
The 101 played Stevie's Ribbon in the Sky. This was during Pres. Nance tenure.
On the way back to the band room they stopped in front of his on campus house and played Ribbon in the Sky with a Trombone solo.

He was recovering from a heart attack/and or surgery. He came to the door in his PJ's along with his wife and listened to the band. It was a thing of beauty. Ya had to be there

My most memorable half time was during my neophyte yeat in the Hundred in '99. It was the Atlanta Classic when we performed "Total Praise." When we did "Total Praise" as the concert selection, the crowd went wild. Now, mind you there was plenty of illegal Hennessy in the Georgia Dome, and there were some ignant moments during the dance routine to come, those 3 or 4 minutes of praising the Lord brought the crown to its feet. It felt absolutely electric in there.

IN THIS ORDER:

(1)TNSU-MVSU 1983 LIBERTY BOWL. THE "ARISTOCRATS" REMEMBERED DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING PLAYING THE "BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC" WITH HALVES OF THE BAND FACING EACH SIDE OF THE BOWL, & EXCERPTS FROM DR. KING'S LAST SPEECH PIPED OVER THE PA SYSTEM.

THEN THEY DRILLED TO STEVIE'S "HAPPY BIRTHDAY".

(2)TNSU-FAMU 1983 BRAGG STADIUM REGIONALLY TELEVISED BY ABC TV. TNSU MARCHED MORE PIECES THAN FAMU.

THE HALFTIME WAS FEATURED 0N THE FRONT PAGE OF THE LOCAL SUNDAY PAPER. I STILL HAVE THAT PAPER.

(3)THE 2003 JOHN MERRITT CLASSIC AGAINST S.C. STATE. I'VE NEVER SEEN THE "ARISTOCRATS" PERFORM WITH SO MUCH ENERGY, & THEY WERE HUGE IN NUMBERS. BY FAR THE BEST OPENING NIGHT THEY'VE EVER DONE.

Early 60's whereas the 100rd played the

"Ben Casey" theme and performed an operation on the field.. I was a puppy but " DA LAW" approved this show as one of his best. Thumb Up Plus the one in 1963, Nashville. (New coach on the scene, John Merritt
, and folks in Nashville wanted 2 see da 100rd and Mr. Bob Hayes) Roll Eyes
Others that come 2 mind,
SU VS TSU, 1969
BCU VS FAMU in Tampa, 80's
SU VS FAMU Tally in the 90's>>.HC

FAMU VS TSU>>>1977 in Nashville
