I heard Penn St. playing "Lets Go Wildcats" My God is anything scraced anymore

As long as you're black, you'll be copied & imitated. It's sad to hate us yet, want to be so much like us.

Why is it so bad? I could understand if they used the same rules of engagement as HBCU bands but I don't think they do. All bands at some point use another bands arrangement, though I know we consider some songs sacred they may not.

"Let's Go Wildcats", if I'm not mistaken, was written by BCU students FOR BCU!! It would be like someone playing Notre Dame's famous fight song.

I would feel the same way as Cassino if I heard someone else playing "Behold the Green and Gold".

I guess there are a number of ways you can look at it, but whatever way it is will never satisfy everyone. LOL

As Paul Mooney said "Everybody want to be a n!99@ but nobody want to be a n!99@".

I think it's cool Cassino... we don't have anything to worry about.

Gregory Drane, a Spring 2002 graduate of B-CU and The Pride is second in command of the Penn State Blue Band. He also keeps constant communication with Mr. Wells and Mr. P., so I'm sure he received permission from The Pride to use the song.

This is Penn State's band staff. Mr. Drane is on to the top row, second to the right. He completed his M.A. in music education from Penn State and is currently working on his PhD.

That sounds cool and all, but when I think of BCC, that song runs through my head. I would hope he could make it through his program and contribute to the staff without giving away a piece which is unique piece of BCC.

^^^ I see what you mean. And because Penn State gets more media coverage than B-CU, people will attribute "Let's Go Wildcats" to Penn State instead of Cookman.

I wouldn't sweat it BCU...They borrowed a few pieces here and there.....Nothing to worry about....IMHO

Then maybe that wasn't the song. Cassino posted hearing "Let's Go Wildcats," so maybe it was "Let's Go Wildcats." I don't know.

The song I posted does have the uppers (trumpets and high woodwinds) line that "Let's Go Wildcats" has. But Cassino has to identify it.

Lets Go State thats the song I heard the other night. To me It's too close to "Lets Go Wildcats"

The Tomahawk Chop is still the crunkest PWC fight song...str8 up.
