IN 77 IN NASHVILLE Y'ALL HAD A LEAD DRUM MAJOR WHO WAS THE MOST IMPRESSIVE OF THE DRUM MAJORS I'VE SEEN
HE WAS RELATIVELY SHORT, HAD A COMMANDING PRESENCE, THE SKILLS OF A MASTER TOREADOR, & HE PUT ON A SLICK SHOW LEADING THE "100" ONTO THE DUDLEY STADIUM FIELD AT HALFTIME. WHAT WAS HIS NAME, & WHAT WAS HIS INSTRUMENT? THE "100" WAS NOWHERE NEAR AS LARGE AS TODAY'S ORGANIZATION. ALTHOUGH I STAYED IN MY SEAT AFTER Y'ALL EXITED, I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RECOLLECTION OF TNSU'S PERFORMANCE, Y'ALL WERE THAT OUTSTANDING. THE GAME'S 2ND HALF VIVIDLY STANDS IN MY MEMORY. NOW DON'T RUN WITH THIS WITH AN EVEN MORE INFLATED ARROGANCE, ALTHOUGH I THINK Y'ALL COULD BE OUTDO YOURSELVES. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "Tis better to light a candle than curse the darkness". |

As flattering a description that was...Batman isn't quite old enough to have been the person you speak of. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ |

I don't think it was 1977. In 1975, we only had three drum majors. The head drum major was Charles "Jip" Brown. He was about 6 feet even. He played the oboe-very well I might add-and saxophone. He did have a commanding prescence.
Kenneth "T.C." Harris was the head drum major in 1977. I think we had five. He was about 6 foot, 3 inches. He played tenor sax. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ If you wish to increase the level of your achievement, you must first increase the level of your commitment |

I've see em all from Richardson, Collier, White, Burch & Batman.
But in 73, Foster had only @ the helm named "Ichey". He also took it by storm. This message has been edited. Last edited by: THE DREAMER, _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ DREAMER |

Nah.....Gary Brown was under me. He was from the trumpet section. I think he was from North Carolina. Charles "Jip" Brown was from Jacksonville. I know he was the head drum major is 75. I think it was Jip, Reuben Martin, and Kenneth Hanna. We only had 3 that year. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ If you wish to increase the level of your achievement, you must first increase the level of your commitment |
