Head Coach |
Southern gave up more runs in the top half of its first inning game tonight against USC than B-CC did in both of its first games (USC, UCLA) combined...
ran into Coach Melendez after tonight's game .. glad to see him smiling (i'll tell you what kind of smile tomorrow evening) ... props to Southern's Jukebox Marching band: as they were making their way from their warm-up area, past the nacho stand, and onto the field to wait for USC's convoluted mess of a "show," some (of the many) SoCal fools cut through the line .. instead of giving him the arse-whupping the fool was evidently begging for, a Jaguar briefly, authortatively, mercifully brushed the fool to the side just far, just for long enough so that the balance of the band could ignore hi triflin' ghetto L.A. arse and go do what they were brought to Calif for (put on a show) .. if that one brief moment is any indication, it seems to this writer that SU is/has put its infamous attack on PV's Marching band (including women) of some years ago behind them .. kudos to the Jukebox! *one more thing on this: the fool had the nerve to say to no one in particular something to the effect of '...and don't you ever put your hands on me again!' .. as the band was pretty much already gone past him evidently the distraction of the five Dancing Dolls SU brought to shimmy and shake (i thought the jump-backwards-spread-your-legs-out-really-wide-and-land-on-your-butt thing they did was unique in a complimentary way) as evidenced by at least half of the USC players stopped warming up to ogle the Dolls was not enough of a distraction because, well, see above ... B-CC's defenders are cagey and resilient and not at all easily discouraged as they got out of some sticky jams against USC without giving up any runs (which could also include the bottom of the eighth inning in Friday's game because the Trojans were in position to score a lot more than the two runs they did in that situation)... valient effort on the part of the 'Cats against the same UCLA team that torched SU for double-digit runs the night before... Jaguars (or folks wearing SU gear) were out in full force as promised and B-CC showed in smaller numbers than SU but sure sounded about as loud... love that the hassanitos that accompanied me were singing (loudly) "Lets! Go! Wildcats!!" on the way to and from the game and of course at the game... special shot-outs to .. the members of the Wildcat family that did what 'Cats do best and that is show a lotta luuuuvvvvvv...! original link _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "Live for yourself and you live in vain.
