Hey, TP, I don't think I have ever heard
Alcorn State's fight song - what is it? You got me curious now. Big Grin

I have actually tried to find a clip of it for you but to no avail. I forgot about BCC's fight song but Alcorn's is still better. It's just an "Indian" Chant that can be deafening at times. Actually, giving BCC a good run their money in the fight song department (second place) is Mississippi Valley's "Devil's Gun"!!

1)SU for now because of their sound and doing the same show year after year, they should be perfect 2)GSU-no one matches their enery and the sound is ok but coming together as well, the best performers 3)TXsu- a good but overlooked band 4)BCC has a good balance for their size 5)ASU, JSU, NSU --- JSU has probably the best entrance although this song was one GSU played for years and they made it their own after the Motown appearance

1. TSU - For obvious reasons.
2. FAMU - I try to not to like them but they "bring it" to the Dome every year.
3. JSU - Predictable shows but you gotta love the Tiger Walk and the fab five drum majors.
4. SU - Loveed them since the early 90's. Love the precision marching. Can do w/o the volume.
5. Bethune - Johnny Come Lately but Great Sound and announcer. Fight Song is killer.

Honorable Mention - A&T Great Sound. PV - They are not in my top five because I've only seen them three times but each time I felt like I should pay them more money for the amount of entertainment they provide. Broadway meets Drumline meets a Three Ring Circus.

I know this is bringing up old stuff, but c'mon. JSU didn't do the Motown 25th until 1989 or so. The Boom has marched in to Get Ready for as long as I've been going to JSU games, and that's since the mid-70s. Maybe you're confusing Get Ready with JSU Rocks the House (got that from Gram).

Yea that is about right... The Get Ready been their signature since 74 and they started marching in on it in 75. Only song I can remember da Boom playing by Grambling is JSU rock the house, and Halftime(which grambling called SWAC) I don't know what other schools call it. But I just can recall Trick Daddy calling it halftime or get crunk
