1. Jackson State- Stadium entrance, Balanced sound, good arrangements, good drilling, the Prancin' J-Settes, the Tiger Run-On, Wavy Dave (RIP) and the Baby Tigers, Get Ready, and ROCK THA HOUSE!!
2. Southern- Most powerful sound in BCF land, best drilling in BCF, the Dancing Dolls
3. TNState- Powerful, second best drilling band of HBCU's, great arrangements, best HBCU in the stands

I really don't feel anyone else but I can give honorable mention to:

Alcorn State-- Decent drills (just lacks energy at times), best fight song in BCF, the Golden Girls, Average sound and arrangements.

"Just in terms of federal research expenditures, JSU is second in the country in terms of historically black colleges and universities," Okojie said. "We had research expenditures of $47 million last year, second only to Howard University, and most of that was money brought in by the faculty...."*****UPDATE*****"We currently rank No. 1 among research intensive HBCU's in acquiring federal research dollars.".....Ronald Mason, JSU Presidential Newsletter(2004)

Hey, TP, I don't think I have ever heard
Alcorn State's fight song - what is it? You got me curious now. Big Grin

in no particular order:

JSU
Alabama State
Shaw
Southern
Cookman

Honorable mention:
AAMU has been growing on me lately. (oddly enough I HATE most of what they do but maybe I'm just used to it now or maybe I'm just a band junkie; gimmie band, any band)

WITH NO BIAS

1. SU- since i was little i've believed that SU was the most complete band (from entrance, stands, halftime, exit!!!), can't forget the Dancing Dolls Angel!

2. TSU- The best in the stands (bar none!!!)I miss them marching to and from the hole though. We jam, u know it!

3. BCU/BCC-has grown on me so fast. The best fight song bar none.

4.FAMU/JSU in no particular order

FAMU-World renown and rightfully so. Always comes with a strong show!!! Probably should be higher, but then again they are famu Smoke Razzer

JSU-The sonic boom clearly has the best entrance of any band that i've seen. The classic halftime show (lil tigers, Prancing J-settes Smoke, etc.)

5.PVAMU/Morris Brown

PVAMU-Probably should be higher but i've only seen them twice and was very impressed both times!!!Strong exit from the John Merritt Classic a few years back.

Morris Brown- Came on very strong before the school went under, best wishes on the come back!
