....Set a new record for scoring the least amount of points in an NCAA tourney game?
Please sign in here... ...set a new record for lowest FG%.... I knew this was coming and rightly so, nevertheless, NOTHING, not even the UCLA debacle by Valley State, can EVER top the three consecutive years of futiliity of NOT being able to make it to the NCAA tournament the normal way. At least Valley made the ACTUAL dance. As the old saying goes, "it's better to have loved and lost, than never have loved at all". |

Dude, get off the play-in game. I'd rather sit out a year (or three), if it meant not being totally humiliated in front of a national audience. Trust me, when someone looks at the two conferences, they're gonna clown both rightfully so, but they're gonna overlook the three years, in favor of being molly-whopped by more than double. Your "play-in futility" argument holds water like an old man in Depends. And even with the play-in problems, we can say we've had two teams pull off major upsets in the big dance, and the teams we have sent were highly competitive, even against #1 seeds, and they scored more than 29 points. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Don't worry about it...they'll be back in 08... |

Okay, yes, MVSU did play a team with name recognition, esp. in college b-ball. However, the point is, the SWAC posters come in here clowning us because of the play-in game situation, when problem is, SWAC isn't holding their own either. Yeah, they played a big name team. So has the MEAC. Even if it's been three years, the MEAC has done their thing in the tournament, win or lose. And like B Trip said, we never got blown out that badly. For the SWAC posters to come on this board and really act like they're the crown jewel of black colleges is we-todd-did, esp. when your RPI is lower than ours. You can use the play-in argument all you want (and in JayRob's case, it's the ONLY tired-ass rebuttal he can use), but don't try to get uppity when someone turns the tables. Plain and simple, both conferences need work. And Sisters of St. Mary's beat who's conference? C'mon y'all. Y'all be getting handed to you there and we have been getting it IN the tournament. NO difference.
If you wanna go the past route, the SWAC has taken a few chips outta some "big time" programs as well so don't act you guys are the only ones. Face it. We both have gotta the tar beaten out of us a few times and MVSU's 29 points only proves that they were not ready to play a team of UCLA's caliber just like Coppin wasn't ready for Mt. St. Mary's. |

Some of you should've thought about what was going to happen BEFORE you wanted to open threads about MEAC basketball. You know what they say about heat and kitchens right? Southern beaten a Georgia Tech team that finished.....SIXTH in the ACC? Ok buddy. You can smack about our conference and when you get served any worse fall back on the "They would've beaten you like that defense." Man ever since they told me that 1.5 million split b/w 10 schools is a good thing I stop listening. These are the same people that held Central at fault for their locker rooms being broke into. But to keep it real, there are alot of nice, intelligent SWAC folks. Go the Swacpage and talk to some (without smacking) and they're some of the brightest people you ever want to meet.
