How did Hampton's name get slipped into this? Confused and not even from TP, but from a Spartan Laugh
It would have made perfect & common sense to add JSU in place of Hampton since after all they've won as many as NSU, and the thread is about.....well....JSU.
Even though its true that no MEAC school admitted after the 1980s has won a playoff game, aside from that one measure- in FCS im not sure the 2 schools (NSU vs. Hampton OR JSU) should be compared.

FAMU

Confused FAMU was admitted in the late 70s. Maybe I should have been clearer, no MEAC school that was admitted into the conference after 1980 has won an FCS playoff game.

I can full understand someone from FAMU making this statement. After all FAMU is one of the top 4 all time HBCU programs.

Da Seer,

True we have lost 17 of the last 20. Last six in a row. But even with all of that you guys have never taken the lead. 1AA title season or Semi Final season, both times you lost to Big Grin

Thanks for the reminder, and FOR THAT REMARK we're gonna take the lead THIS YEAR!!! LOL!!!

There is no reason why a conference that has sent more pros to the NFL can't win a SINGLE playoff game.

We need to stop being scurred and get it done.

I agree w/ you Daseer, I think it is absolutely possible, even though it may be a few years away. However, you've got to beat the Delta States of the world, CONVINCINGLY at that to compete with top midmajor programs and better yet, the App States

Any school can be beaten on any given Saturday. Case in point, App State beat Michigan, Ga Southern beat App State, Delta State beat Jackson State. Michigan beats Florida in a bowl game.

Bottom line: you will never beat them if you never play them!!! Jackson State should be trying to find loopholes around the SWAC Championship and get in the playoffs.

JSU wins their first conference title since 1996 and now we are looking for loopholes. Loopholes?

Oh, so a fellow SWAC foe wants to accept the challenge? I was hoping one of the MEAC fans would step forward, so some of the young (and old) bucks could be taught a bit of SWAC history, but Mach, if you insist.

I'll give you the honor of going first, then I'll follow suit.

No homie. Gram has yall beat by a long shot.

Gram, SU, Famu, and Tenn St. are the historically the top HBCU's when it comes to football. JSU would come in behind those 4.

How is that when JSU hasn't had but four losing seasons since 1971? No other HBCU program can claim that feat, not even Grambling.

No HBCU team has the quality crop of players sent to the NFL as JSU has....none. I would put my list against ANY HBCU school. Southern, FAMU and Tenn. State aren't even in the debate.

I challenge ANYONE from Grambling, FAMU, Southern or Tenn. State to put their list up and I'll put mine up of quality NFL players from JSU. We can then let the names speak for themselves.

Also, don't worry about us beating TNState. We got that covered into infinity beginning in 2008.

It's a new day. The game shall be played again. One day. The losses to A&T remind me of the current streak Tenn. State has on JSU. Every game found a new and interesting way for JSU to lose. T.C. dropping a sure TD pass in the Georgia Dome. Tim Manning dropping the ball while he's 20 yards ahead of everybody, then kicking it out the back of the endzone. Bell's first team stinking it up in OT loss. We owe ya.

Rob, those were some lucky mofo's. I am still hurt that one of BCF's sorriest teams hold the lead over us. Hampton stepped up to the plate to take their azz whoopins. We need to get A&T back on the field!!

And as far as legacy, one might argue that Comegy's former team has a greater legacy than his current team. Who is the most winningest HBCU in history again?

some team in Alabama that JSU leads in our series. If you running a 4 mile race and you start 5 minutes before everyone else and wins does not make you better.

Yes, they have won about 200 more games since they started playing earlier, but they have also won a greater percentage of their games.

Dude, TSU is suffering nearly 20 years of futility...how can you even make such a comment. The top three programs over the last 3-4 decades are JSU, FAMU, and Grambling. If you want to go back to the leather helmet days, be my guest.

Also, don't worry about us beating TNState. We got that covered into infinity beginning in 2008.

Tennessee State has Jaxson State in a choke hold for a SIX count and counting.......

And if they (Jackson State) thinks we are letting go before a 10 count then......

The Blue Bengals must be....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQYcoPfE7Xk
