Agreed. Damn shame. Fine ass woman like that gonna be stealin? Anybody know if the University rained down on her? Truthfully, the fact that she has another year and has to live that down is punishment enough I think. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ |

As long as there are people on this website, she will never live this down. Heck, i'm surprised that this hadn't happened earlier in history. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ A&T Class of 2008! "I BELIEVE IN NORTH CAROLINA A&T." |

Who says it hasn't happened? I'm sure it has, maybe they never got caught, maybe it didn't make news, maybe it was before the internet age. But, I seriously doubt Miss Hampton (or former) looks at this website (if she even knows its exists), or cares about the comments from strangers. The most shame will come from her fellow classmates and professors. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Still wearing thy colors....THE BLUE AND THE WHITE !!

c/o 2001- QTIV |

Just over a year ago......
© April 1, 2007 By AMY COUTEÉ, STEVE STONE AND JENNIFER JIGGETTS The Virginian-Pilot NORFOLK - A Norfolk State University freshman who was stabbed to death Saturday evening on campus was a lover of dance and music who sang tenor with the university's concert choir. Police identified him Sunday as Sean D. Williams, 18, of Newport News. He was living on campus, where he was a music education major with a concentration in voice and a minor in piano. "Tomorrow is not promised, so you must live for today," Williams, a 2006 graduate of Denbigh High School, wrote on his Web page at Facebook.com. He was one of two men stabbed on a sidewalk along Park Avenue near NSU's Babbett B. Smith residence halls. Williams lived in one of Smith's twin high-rise towers. The second victim, who is not being identified because he is a witness, is not an NSU student. He was in stable condition Sunday at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. A suspect, who is an NSU student, has been arrested and will be charged with murder and malicious wounding, said Sgt. Ollan Burruss, a police spokesman. The man's name was being withheld until investigators could complete interviews with witnesses, Burruss said. There will be a memorial service on campus this week for Williams. Jamilah Coleman, an NSU freshman majoring in accounting, went to Denbigh with Williams and met him when she tried out for the high school chorus. "He was an assistant choral director, and he was just always so encouraging to me, always telling me I was going to make it," Coleman said Sunday evening. His was a distinct voice, she said. "He always had a strong voice and did a lot of solos," Coleman said. "He was a really good person, and it's disgusting that something like this would happen to him. " Williams, who also listed membership in the NSU Spartan Chorale and involvement in the ballroom scene on his Facebook page, wrote with pride of who he was. "I am a young, black, Homosexual MAN with a lot going for myself," Williams wrote, adding: "Please note that your sexuality does not define you as a person. " The stabbings occurred around 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Park Avenue. Williams died at the scene, and the other victim was taken to the hospital. Police said a fight had escalated and led to the stabbings. "This is certainly a tragic incident that occurred on campus," said NSU police Chief Carl Burt. "I hope to never see this again." Neither Burt nor city police characterized the nature of the dispute or said how many people were involved. Some NSU students suggested Sunday in postings on Facebook that Williams' slaying was related to his being gay. "He was a wonderful person and that's what matters, your character, not who you prefer to sleep with," wrote Rechelle Jones of Norfolk. Many just shared their grief in the shorthand of the Internet. "I love you Sean.... RIP," wrote Brittany Howard of Norfolk. "I just keep thinking about the short time that I have known you. U were crazy talented & a wonderful person." School officials posted fl iers in nearby dorms on Saturday night, providing students with contact information for grief counselors. The university did not increase security on campus, but Sharon Hoggard, director of news and media relations, said the issue will be revisited this week, and a quarterly forum on public safety will remind students to be vigilant. Thirty-five campus police and security guards patrol the school on foot and in cars 24 hours a day. On Sunday, NSU students said they were anxious to learn more about the victims and what happened. "There are so many stories going around, so you don't really know what happened," said freshman Ashley Durden, 18, who lives in a dorm close to where the stabbings occurred. "It's really scary because this is our school and we should be able to feel safe. " Freshman Aaron McMullen, 18, said that despite the stabbing, he feels safe at NSU. "I'm from D.C., so this kind of thing happens all the time," said McMullen, who was in his dorm on Park Avenue during the stabbings. He said he will do the same things he always does, such as staying in a large group after dark to keep safe. Freshman Meredith Whitties, 19, said, "Until we find out what happened, I doubt there's anything that I'll change." She added, "Bad stuff happens anywhere." • Reach Amy Coutee at (757) 222-5562 or amy.coutee@pilotonline.com. •Reach Steve Stone at (757) 446-2319 or steve.stone@pilotonline.com. •Reach Jennifer Jiggetts at (757) 446-2033 or jennifer.jiggetts@pilotonline.com. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ O Hampton, we never can make thee a song Except as our lives do the singing,In service that will thy great spirit prolong, And send it through centuries ringing! |

How soon we forget........
Suspect in Norfolk State stabbing is identified, arraigned Posted to: Crime © April 2, 2007 By MATTHEW ROY The Virginian-Pilot NORFOLK - A vigil is scheduled for Wednesday to remember the Norfolk State University student who was fatally stabbed over the weekend by a fellow student. Terrance Allen Ross, 18, was charged after an altercation Saturday evening that left Sean Williams, 18, of Newport News, dead. Ross appeared briefly before a judge Monday, charged with murdering Williams and wounding another man who was not a student. Police headed to the area around NSU's Babbett B. Smith residence halls at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Williams died at the scene. The other victim was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he was listed in good condition Monday. Ross was taken into custody inside the residence hall, where both he and Williams had lived, said Anthony Walker, assistant chief of the NSU police. Authorities did not disclose what led up to the assault. "There was some kind of disturbance, or fight, or altercation," said Sharon Hoggard, an NSU spokeswoman. "We do not know the motives behind that. Those events escalated." Some students had suggested in postings on the online social networking site Facebook that the killing may have been related to Williams' sexual orientation. Norfolk police spokesman Officer Chris Amos discounted that. "This had nothing to do with the guy's sexual preference," he said. "We know that much." Ross was jailed and was being held without bail. He declined interview requests, said Bonita Harris, spokeswoman for the city jail. The university plans a vigil at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center for Williams, who was a music education major with a concentration in voice and a minor in piano. NSU President Carolyn Meyers released a statement to students and staff regarding Williams' death. The university, she wrote, "is saddened by the loss of Sean Williams, a freshman student full of promise. A member of our University's Gospel Choir, Sean's talent and presence will be missed. To Sean's family and friends, we extend our condolences and offer our prayers for comfort." She urged faculty and staff to resolve to "reinforce to our students and associates alike the use of non-violent mechanisms of resolving differences so that this tragedy is not repeated." • Reach Matthew Roy at (757) 446-2540 or matthew.roy@pilotonline.com. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ O Hampton, we never can make thee a song Except as our lives do the singing,In service that will thy great spirit prolong, And send it through centuries ringing! |

Now Hampton, you have REACHED A NEW LOW. How dare some of you just throw around a death of a student on a smack thread? That is just distasteful.
Its one thing to SMACK but its another thing to bring up a death of a fellow HBCU student to TRY to prove a pointless point in a thread that was meant just to poke fun at a school that is our friendly rival. How would you feel if we lacked the class to do what you did if this unfortunate incident happened at your institution? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ A&T Class of 2008! WestCoastAggie, To be honest with you my post was not intended to poke fun or to even smack.....I think All of this shows a lack of taste to smack anyone from any school because of the poor choices he or she makes.....Some of us love to point fingers but fail to realize that even worse things have happened in our own front yards.......I understand if you want to post news but the insults, the photos and all the other things that have been said about a young lady who mad a bad choice is just tastless and shows a lack of class period. Some of us have done worse or even stolen more but were just lucky we didn't get caught, some of you to this day most likly has cheated on your taxes, so what does that make you? What if this was your daughter would you still be laughing, if I were a moderater the trend would have been deleted once the "smack" began but know it goes on for 6 pages and will continue to grow, but thats ok right....when does it end? I guess it would have been ok if the NSU student would have just robbed his fellow student right, you would have not complained then but you would would have jumped on the bandwagon and posted his picture right.....smack right? So this post is still pointless right...... _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ O Hampton, we never can make thee a song Except as our lives do the singing,In service that will thy great spirit prolong, And send it through centuries ringing! |
